@TaitaR unfortunately, you've found the fix by using steamlink. Link/airlink is a dog turd of a piece of software, and if meta were any good they'd sort the problems out. They're not, and they haven't. Enjoy your PCVR with SteamLink. Virtual Desktop is also working wired with an ethernet or link cable.

Thank you for confirming. It's a little annoying since to be honest, I am pretty happy with the headset for its performance otherwise. Sure it may not be perfect but price / performance it seems pretty good to me. The headset standalone (Asgard's wrath 2 mainly) and PCVR though steam (Half life Alyx, mainly) has been performing pretty well.
Originally I had the headset connected through Air Link too and that seemed ok. If I try to start Airlink now it shows my pc but when I try to pair it fails (even after doing a hardware reset and removing / reinstalling the app). If I stop the Oculus VR Runtime service on my PC the headset no longer sees it in Air Link. This clearly indicates that there is some form of communication going on. 😐

So after most of the evening futher: any tips on how to run Ashgards Wrath (the pcvr version) outside of airlink. Whatever I try, steam or virtual desktop, it errors out because of a 'device failure' because well, yeah, I cannot add it to air link...
I did fairly recently switch to ubiqity, so I followed some suggestions for confguiguration for that as well. However none of the suggestions made a dent. Really, I just want to try Ashgard I, In stead of playing a few hours, I just have been getting frustrated 😞

So after letting it rest for a few days I had a look again today and checked the network setting, firewall and wifi, but nothing. I was almost ready to give it a rest again, when I noticed that the NIC in my PC had two static ip addresses. The second one was an old one so I removed it.
I have no good explanation for it, but after removing the second IP, Air Link started working and has been working fine tonight...

How were you able to tell which IP was static and to remove it. I'm looking at my Network Adapters in the device manager but I don't want to remove something important.
