Has anyone else had this issue? I charged my Quest 3 for a little over 30 min and upon putting it on to check the battery percentage I see it has not charged at all. After feeling the port to make sure it was connected it BURNED my hand causing me to take the headset off and it got close enough to burn my face. It was melted into the port and stuck. Scared of a fire caused by this thing I LOVE. I ripped the cord out to see smoke coming from the charger and a charred charging port. I’ve seen other people have this issue online. Does anyone have any personal experience with this. Waiting on customer support to reach back out. Praying they will give me a replacement I’ve only had it since November. Really amazing Bday present. 😞

Same here, if I wasn't home it could have been real bad. Ended up with wrecked device and blistered finger.
Support is causing me depression.

It's been days and I have not heard a single thing from meta. I sent my device for RMA then got another RMA email then both were cancelled, now what? Ignore me?

Hey @Corpsy1. In most cases, when a ticket closes you can reopen it by replying to it anyway. If you don't hear back, you'd want to open a new ticket and let them know about your situation. Hope this helps.

I appreciate your reply, but when I try to open a new ticket, support chat says it's being handled by an advanced team and closes the chat and I hear nothing else. I dont want to give up but my mental health can't take much more that I'm out such a great sum of money, I feel like a victim.

If you've gotten to the advanced teams then the best thing to do is wait. They'll reach out to you once they get to your ticket. I know it can be lengthy but they'll get to you soon.

I will remain patient, in hope.

Hi, I have the same issue with my meta quest 3 headset which I used only for a few days. First I notice the head of the headset is overheated then I smell like burning plastics. But then I thought it was just smell new. Two days later when I charged it without turning on the device, the smell of burnt plastics seemed even more severe and only then that I realise the usb-c connection was burnt with the support arm burnt off. It almost caught fire. I have an iPad Pro charging with the same plug as the meta headset but it has been fine with no issue whatsoever. I searched the web and found out I am not the only one with the issue, customers already have burnt headset for meta quest 2, and now meta quest 3!
