Quest 3 Completely unresponsive/unusable

aliegm
Honored Guest

Had ben having some issues with the controllers not properly switching from native to the hands for a while, but nothing to be alarmed, but yesterday after sleep wasn't able to pass the profile screen, the controls not responsive, no hands controls at all and the dot not moving from the center of the screen to be able to use headset vol button.

Was able to "launch" some applications from the mobile device, I heard sound from the quest but still no pass the select profile screen.

At the end I did a factory reset and everything got worst, on boot, the screen is completely dark, and the controls vibrate every couple seconds, but no response, when I press the power button I get the turn off screen, but still no input for controls, hands, or the headset position. at this point the only response from the headset is power down with the long press of the power button, or see the meta logo upon boot afterwards before going copletely dark.

Please any help will be really appreciated

Hello.

Thanks for reaching out, we're always happy to help in any way we can!

It sounds like the factory reset didn't solve anything but made the situation a whole lot worse for you, so we may have to start looking at other directions to help.

  • Can you first of all check that there are no third-party accessories connected to the device that might affect the boot process, and that the battery is fully charged as that can also cause similar issues?
  • Does the 'No Command' screen show at any point when trying to boot the device?

We would advised trying a further factory reset in case the headset hadn't closed down correctly, or one of the controller buttons was sticking.

1. Check that the volume button is unstuck

2. Press and hold the power button for about 10-15 seconds or until the headset is forced off.

3. Attempt Factory reset.

If after the second attempt there has been no improvement, please contact us via Private Message with the following details so that we can look at replacement options for the device.

  • Username/alias on your Meta Quest account
  • Full name on your Meta Quest account
  • Email on your Meta Quest account
  • Headset serial number which can be located on the left side of your headset.
    • Gently pull the strap connector away from the headset until it pops off. Your headset serial number is below the QR code

We hope this helps, thank you!
