Hi,
I too am suffering severe skin irritation using my Quest 3. Had no problem with the Quest 2 and it's standard interface, but the new material on the Quest 3 is causing severe blotchy skin patches that are very itchy/scratchy and very dry. There's no alternative silicone interface with the Quest 3 like there was with my Quest 2.
My skin irritation is requiring treatment with emolient and steroid cream to try and calm it down.
Seems most users reporting here are getting ignored by META and resorting to alternative 3rd party solutions. What are META going to do about this?

Thanks - no directly applicable option, but used one of the other display options, and amended the problem in the WhatsApp chat. Resolved, got sent a silicon facial interface which has solved the problem.

I sent a message to meta back in December about this. I included links for all of the people in the forums and on Reddit that were talking about skin irritation. Meta seems to think it’s a non issue and told me to either stop using the $500 headset or buy their $40 silicone cover.
the quest 2 was recalled for facial irritation and meta determined that silicone was a material that would make it safe to use, but for the quest 3 they really decided to make the silicone a premium option and instead release a fabric cover that has abrasive weaving. If silicone was safe, why change it? Make the fabric cover the optional one.

Hey @PlagueGhost3, I'm sorry to hear that your experience with support is anything less than ideal. I know that with the Quest 2 they eventually included a silicone cover in the box, and that might be a good suggestion here. For something like this, I'd highly recommend posting it in our Ideas board where our engineering and product team look for any potential hardware and software ideas to bring to life.

Yes! I had the same problem when I received a refurbished quest 3 about 1 month ago. After a few uses my eyes swelled up with what looked like hives all around my eyes. Contacted meta and they suggest I read the bit about keeping the headset clean and said a silicone interfacial may be less irritating . Has anyone solved this problem ? I never experienced this on the quest 2 or on my previous quest 3 . I wonder if the material they are using now in the quest 3 stick interface is different and causing allergic reactions

I too was ignored. It's been a year and I've used my device about 5 times. Please help me!
