Quest 3 keeps turning itself back on and this is even after I've gone into the App and turned off the auto-wake feature. Turns itself back on in the case; turns itself back on if it's charging; Just turned itself back on 4 times in a row after I powered it off (once with install updates turned off). This has caused my unit to overheat twice and go back to the factory menu. I'm concerned this is going to wind up causing a fire. I'm considering returning it since I'm still in the return window, however. This is happening to all of our group of friend Quest 3's also, so it's a deeper problem. Is there going to be a patch released to fix this power issue?

Hi @Pnerissa
We had another user with this same issue and it turned out that the power button was depressed when it was put in the case. Just double check that the button isn't being fouled by anything that would potentially switch it back on whilst stored

I've noticed that, if you plug it in BEFORE powering off, it turns itself back on again. If you plug in AFTER powering off, it's fine. Hopefully they'll do something about this, because it's a pain in the neck.

Hi there @Pnerissa, we see you are having power issues with the Meta Quest 3. We understand the importance of being able to turn off your headset when not in use to preserve battery health, and we would love to do all that we can to help you out with this issue!
So we see @J40NYR and @willco_1605 have provided some useful tips for the powering on issue. Another troubleshooting we can suggest for you to do is a factory reset to eliminate any kinks the headset may have.
To do so, please review the following steps:
Let us know how this goes!

My new oculus 3 has been working fine until today. I have tried to switch it on and it keeps switching itself off within a few seconds. A couple of times it stayed on but displayed a grey screen. To get out of that screen I held the power and volume buttons for 30 seconds. A picture of an error sign the comes up and this cycle continues. Any ideas on how to fix this? Thanks

Hiya hiya! We're just moseying on over to see if you are still in need of assistance. If so, please don't hesitate to let us know. Thank you!

Yikes! This is not the experience you should be having and we want to get you back on track as soon as possible. Thank you for letting us know you have turned off the device fully. However, to be on the same page have you been able to do a factory reset? I know you mentioned volume buttons however, when factory resetting you have to make sure to use the power and the (-) volume button only.
A menu should pop up providing you with options. In addition, not sure if you can provide a picture of the error code you were receiving. Before doing another factory reset (if it was done already) please make sure you check your cloud backup is on with the following steps:
If you have games with the toggle on that means your cloud backup is on. (Please remember not all games have cloud backup as this is up to developers to decide if they do have it or not) We hope this post finds you well and can't wait to hear back from you!

Those of us who are constantly encountering this issue - turning the device off only to find that the headset + elite battery are down to ~10% a day or two later, again and again - can only assume that it's because the device is running in the background to spy on us and collect data without our consent. Hopefully that's not the case, but that's the word on the street, so it wouldn't be surprising. My inner optimist wants to think it's just a bug but whatever it's doing to drain the battery so drastically certainly doesn't install confidence of privacy.
I'm keeping my Quest 3 in the garage whenever it's "turned off" just in case, until they fix this issue and give us better confidence that the device isn't merely a trojan horse for in-home privacy invasion.

Oh no! We don't like the sound of that, @Kraaaal. We understand how important it is for your Quest 3 to be powered off and stay off until you are ready to use it again. It seems like this is a battery issue. We want to ensure all of our customers have nothing less than a wonderful VR experience, so we would love to look into this issue for you.
