Quest 3 Keyboard Dictation not working

On the onscreen keyboard I tap the Microphone key so that I can dictate my typing. The putt on says Initializing for several seconds and just shuts off. 

• I've restarted the device 
• tested audio and mic using voice commands 
• software's up to date 

How can I make dictation work?

And what makes this even more ridiculous is that these apps are metas. 

Both Facebook Messenger and WhatsApp. And they are making the device a problem to use for many of us. How hard is it to address this issue?

Any update? I'm surprised as well that this "basic" feature doesn't seem to work at all. Yet voice commands work.

• Device you're having this issue with

I hope to get a few replies if this is still an issue! I want to make sure we can provide this information to our engineers!

I'm on v60 on Quest 3. I don't believe I previously submitted a bug report.

I am having the same issue. It works for one maybe two uses and then stops working and my microphone works just fine for voice commands and voice search in apps that support work fine, so I know it’s not my microphone

I'm using the Quest 3 on V62.

When I try to enable voice dictation, I specifically get a message that says, "Dictation is not available in this application." And in general, typing inside of Messenger feels worse than all the other applications. In other applications, voice dictation still works. I even used it to type out this right now. 

I just submitted a bug report.

I have a new Quest3 running V 62 and whatsapp allowed voice input one time only and then quit, stating that the app does not support dictation. This does not appear to be a high priority bug, I guess although using the on-screen keyboard is an awkward 1-finger exercise at best.

Hope they will eventually get this fixed.

I just purchased a Quest 3 and noticed this same issue everyone is describing. It's mind-boggling to me that this is still an issue after all this time. When I try to enable voice dictation in Facebook Messenger, I specifically get a message that says, "Dictation is not available in this application" as well.
