On the onscreen keyboard I tap the Microphone key so that I can dictate my typing. The putt on says Initializing for several seconds and just shuts off.

Unfortunately, this is a known bug that is being worked on by your engineering staff. It would be best if your customer service staff had access to better data on issues like this in order to avoid a lot of wasted back and forth on issues that have no solution as things stand right now. I had the same experience with the wifi dropout issue that was recently improved by the V 62 release. This may also be a matter of improved staff training. Sorry to have to provide this constructive criticism feedback.

I am using the latest release of the Quest 3 firmware V 62.
The device is a 128 gig Quest 3 running conventionally (no link)
I think I submitted a bug report but will do so again this morning just for good measure.
This defect is hardly unknown, by the way as there are extensive comments/discussions. The dictation function is perfectly operational on my device when I invoke it in the browser.
This is exactly what happened to me as well. It let me use voice dictation one time and now every time I click the microphone the Quest 3 pops up telling me it's not supported. I thought I was the only one this is happening to. At least I know now that the support team is aware of this issue and are working to fix it.
