Quest 3 LED light PINK

PoutinePapi
Honored Guest

Hi, I noticed that my Quest 3 LED light is pink while on. It's been this way for about a month and a half. Nothing seems out of the ordinary other than hand tracking isn't the best.

I've tried hard and soft resetting, turning it back on and off. Letting it die and charge again. Making sure it and all apps are up to date. This is a different light than the purple light when hard resetting. Seems to be purely cosmetic (maybe body and hand tracking related?), but I can't find anything on forums or the internet as to WHY.Meta Quest 3.jpg

Greetings @PoutinePapi! Thanks for your swift response concerning this issue. The pink LED light is to notify you that there is an update available. From the information you provided, there is no update available for your device, so the light should no longer shine pink. After performing a factory reset and starting fresh, the light should have been removed. With that being said, are you part of the PTC group? If not, we would like to investigate this matter further. In order to do so, please send us a PM so we can further work on this issue by clicking here. Next, click "Send a Message" to privately message us! Greetings @PoutinePapi! Thank you for taking the time out to share this recent matter you are dealing with. If you haven't already, please ensure there are no available software updates on the Quest 3. Concerning the hand tracking issues, have you attempted to clear your boundary history ?

  • Press the Oculus/Meta logo on your right controller
  • Click on the clock on the left side of the universal menu
  • Select Settings
  • In the settings panel, select Boundary
  • Select 'Clear Boundary history'
  • Redraw your Guardian boundaries by selecting 'Adjust Boundary' from the Boundary settings menu

We've seen these steps help people out in the past with the same issue you're having. We're hoping that they will do the same for you.

However, if you're still having trouble after trying those steps, please don't hesitate to reach back out and let us know. We'll also be here if you have any other questions or concerns. Have a legendary rest of your day!

Hi, thanks for replying. I've done everything suggested. Still same situation. Would I need to clear boundary history and check for updates even when hard resetting and starting fresh? I've done it a couple times.

Also, could you give an opinion on why the LED light would be pink? I just haven't seen it on any other post or forum online.

Thanks, have a great day.

Did you ever figure this out? I'm have the same problem right now. From what I can tell the pink light just means that there's a software update available but there's none available when I check.  The only thing I haven't tried is a factory reset.

No, didn't figure out. Although it's supposed to mean an update, but there's none available.

Thanks for the reply, my main question was wondering about the pink light as I didn't know what it meant. With this reply you mentioned that it was for an update available. So my question has been answered, but the problem (pink LED light) is still there. I'll privately message to get it investigated further.

Hey @PoutinePapi. We appreciate the update on your issue. We'd be more than happy to assist you from a PM with your issue and get everything squared away. Expecting to hear from you soon.
