Quest 3 Link PC Freezes on launch

I use a link cable to play games and it has been working fine, but now when I launch the Link app and it takes me to the white room it just freezes. I've tried resetting the headset, my pc, unplugging/plugging back in, disabling Wifi, other USB 3 ports, removing device and re-adding it back on the Meta Quest Link app on PC.

I just need it to stop freezing on launch. Any ideas or solutions would be greatly appreciated.

I am having the same issues with Link Cable. Was working at last flawlessly prior an V76 update dated 25th April.. Now since 25th update I been battling the connection issues and detection process trying to get connected to my PC. Like yourself I am trying different USB's and restarting, rebooting, changed the Link Cable even, doing everything I can so I can simply play my Pc VR games.

I am on the Public Meta build channel right now, and I am finding I can connect by Link Cable only by terminating the Meta software in Task manager on first attempt and reconnecting straight after..

Very interesting. I'll try this method as well and post my results.

If you find anything else that works, please let me know.

Its a shame we have to jump through hoops right now to simply connect to PC.

My way isn't by any means the best way, and can not reason why termination on first attempt (which sticks endlessly at the META emblem in the headset and on monitor screen --- it doesn't connect) then retry straight after for connection straight away after..

Its a WTH moment for sure.

Could you give me a step by step of what you're doing? I get the endless META emblem loading screen, but when I try to 'Quit' the Link app and connect again nothing will change or if I close the Meta software through Task Manager and then quickly try to connect it doesn't work either.

I was able to get into the Oculus VR screen before (the big white room) but now I only get the infinite Meta emblem loading screen.

I got it working again, but I do not know if it will last since it is a very intermittent problem.

I have gone through two USB cables. One recommended from a Youtuber which did work for a couple days or so and then the official Meta cable.

In no particular order I updated my motherboard drivers recently, adjusted the USB power plans, set Nvidia Control Panel to run the various Meta .exes on my GPU and not integrated graphics, uninstalled the Meta software and reinstalled and factory reset my Quest 3. I did use the debug tool for Meta to adjust some numbers back when it was working and it made it work better, but today I adjusted them back to defaults and suddenly it worked again. So, I'm not sure if the drivers helped, the factory reset, reinstalling the software, etc, but I'm pretty sure adjusting the debugger back to defaults is what made it start working again... at least for now. I know the debugger isn't the issue for most people so it may have been something else I did IF this issue is actually resolved. I had two play sessions today and they both went perfect.

More updates as they occur.

Curious stuff indeed,...

I use the Debug tool but only thing I changed is turn off the (PC) Asynchronous Spacewarp.

Recently had Motherboard drivers reinstalled ..

Do not fancy resetting Quest 3, as its functioning fine for everything else and I do not trust the procedure very much.

I shall keep on dabbling...

I have massive lags in Oculus dash for 5-7 seconds after connections are made. Like 5 fps. They start after Meta Quest Link PC app update to 77.0.0.530.329 (77.0.0.530.329). I have not updated Quest FW.

That's a valid point as to what build we are on..

v76.1024 here..

Just updated to ironically : v76.1025
