Hi everyone,
I’ve been encountering a strange networking issue with my Meta Quest 3 when it's connected to a router that advertises a DNS64 address like 64:ff9b::101:101.
Every 1 to 2 minutes, the Quest 3 briefly loses network connectivity — it disconnects and then reconnects automatically. This happens consistently and seems to correlate with the presence of the DNS64 advertisement in the RA (Router Advertisement) or DHCPv6 response.
Here's what I’ve confirmed:
The issue disappears if I remove the DNS64 address from the advertised DNS list.
It only seems to affect the Quest 3 — other IPv6-capable devices (e.g., Android phones, laptops) on the same network work just fine with DNS64.
Wi-Fi signal strength is strong and consistent.
Router is running OpenWrt, and the DNS64 address is coming either from manual configuration or upstream.
No unusual logs from the router side when the drop happens, but Quest 3 drops Wi-Fi momentarily.
I'm wondering if anyone else has experienced this? Is this a known bug in the Quest firmware regarding DNS64 handling?
Any advice, workarounds, or confirmation would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance!
