Quest 3 Rainbow Static/Lines

CaptainRaygun

@meta

Hello, recently I have been getting rainbow coloured lines at the centre of my quest 3 lenses in the shape of an "X" when using air link/virtual desktop. It comes in different levels of intensity but it's now always there. When playing Quest native games like Assassin's Creed Nexus, it doesn't happen, but on occasion I can see a light "pixel flicker" when loading from menus in more intensive games.

My PC specs are: RTX 3070 GPU, AMD Ryzen 3600 6- core processor, 16 gigs ram, running off windows 10.

Any insight on this issue would be greatly appreciated. The headset is only around 2 months old and Id like to avoid sending in under warranty.

Hello,

Yes I do! The lines happen most prevelent in PCVR after about 1 hour of play. They are most prevelent in, in game menus and start menus but will happen in game as well. The lines occasionally take place in stand alone with games such as assassin's creed VR. To my best observations the issue arrives the most when the there is increased demand on the headset or as it heats up from length of play and when it's using a menu overlay

Thank you for your reply and for providing those responses to our questions. Since you are experiencing display issues in both PCVR and Standalone, we would like to provide you with the following troubleshooting steps:.

Please try the following:

  1. Reboot the headset.
    • Hold down the power button and volume down button for 30 seconds until you hear the boot-up sound.
    • If the boot-up sound is not heard:
      1. Hold the power and volume (-) button down simultaneously until the boot screen loads on your headset.
      2. Use the volume buttons on your headset to highlight "Boot Device" and press the power button.
      3. Use the volume buttons on your headset to highlight Yes and press the power button.
  2. Factory reset
    • Be sure to confirm that Cloud Backup is enabled first on your headset.

Let us know if these steps helped. If not, then we kindly ask that you send us a PM so that we can collect some sensitive information to create a support ticket for you and have our specialist team continue providing you with additional support. I am having this exact issue on the Quest 3 using Virtual Desktop to play PCVR games. I do not know if it occurs natively. Was there ever a resolution to this issue?

I'm still working on it with them. Boy do they give you the run around. Next up they want me to make sure my GPU drivers are up to date and then test it out by playing some games. (My driver's are always up to date). I'll keep you posted.
