I am having a serous issue with my Meta Quest 3 Right Controller(s) and the Right Controller only. I had my Meta Quest 3 for about a month, until I started using it to workout. I have about 60-70 minute workout session and work up quite a sweat. I am regular wiping down my controllers.
My original right controller soon started have a stuck trigger key. It would come and go. Then it started reporting low battery life, even when I put in a fresh battery. I would switch the same battery to my left controller and it would report 100%. I finally reported the issue to Meta Support and after all their troubleshooting I returned to controller for a replacement.
Because the replacement was going to take a while I bought a new Right Controller as a backup. I also purchased silicone covers to help protect the controllers from sweat.
The new right controller worked for a week and then I started having the same issues. Battery life was reported as low to empty, despite fresh batteries being inserted. It died for a while, and would not come back to life. I again reported this to Meta Support and again they agreed to replace it with yet another new Right Controller.
In the meantime, my replacement right controller (now the third) arrived. This was yesterday. I had a good workout yesterday with no issues. Today, after about a 1 hour workout the new right controller again died. Still waiting to see if it will come back to life. No indicator light when I insert a new batter.
Is there a know issues with the Meta Quest 3 right controller? This is now my third controller (with a 4th on the way). Is the issue caused by workout sweat? Could the issues be with the headset? I'm becoming increasingly frustrated.
My left controller has been perfectly fine throughout all this.

1. The issue only started to happen after I started working out.
2. I am on my third right controller. It arrived 2 days ago. Yesterday I was about 55 minutes into a workout when the controller suddenly lost connection. I tried to pull the battery out and reinsert. I tried a fresh battery and nothing. The indicator light would not go on, it was dead. Unpairing and repairing was impossible because it would simply not turn on. I pulled the battery out of both controllers and after about an hour or so I was able to reinsert the battery and the right controller was working again. I tried another workout today. After about 50 minutes the right controller lost connection again. The same issue. Inserting the battery did not turn on the indicator light. It is currently dead. Today I used gloves to ensure the controller did not get sweat on it. I use Les Mills Body Combat and Supernatural to workout.
3. I wipe down my controllers with a soft dish cloth between and during workout.
This issue is only happening with right controllers. The left controller is fine. Is there a known issue with right controllers. Could this be an issue with the headset itself? Three controllers have now experience the same problem.

Thank you for getting back with those details @ScubaTanked, Since this is the third controller this has happened to, let's consider other factors that could be causing the problem.
It's possible that the battery is being shaken out of place during intense workout sessions. If your average workout is about 50 minutes, try removing and reinserting the battery every 20 minutes.

1. The issue with the controller suddenly dying, despite the battery being fresh, only seems to happen when I workout. And no, it is not a loose battery. Today, the controller was working gain, but it was reporting only 20% battery life (despite a fresh battery being inserted). My left controller showed 90% battery life. I switched the batteries and despite the switch, the Right Controller battery reported 20% battery life (when it was had just reported 90% n the left controller) and the Left Controller battery reported 100%, despite reporting 20% when in the right controller. Despite all this I was able to use Les Mills and Supernatural for 75 minutes and I did not lose connection today.
2. My headset is definitely on the latest update. I am able to use the newest window layout feature.
3. I usually workout in the morning, and the room is very bright.
4. There are no mirrors or ceiling fans in my room. Now sure how this would cause the right controller to suddenly disconnect and report no power at all, even with a fresh battery or why it would report low battery life despite the battery being fresh. When it disconnects, there is no power at all and I have to leave the battery out of the controller for a period of time (30-60 minutes) and then it will come back to life.
No, the battery is not being shaken and I have tried what you suggest (removing and reinserting the battery) on numerous occasions. It makes no difference.
And why is this only happening to right controllers?

Thank you for trying all those steps, @ScubaTanked. In hopes of ruling out any possible software issue we should go ahead and attempt to factory reset the device. First you'll want to unpair both controllers from your headset using your phone app. After that remove the batteries and follow the instruction below on how to factory reset from your headset:
First make sure you have cloud backup turned on, you can find the instructions here.
To perform a factory reset using the headset:
Once you've factory reset the device this should clear any software bugs or issues, if you still have any trouble after these steps send us a private message, and we'll be happy to assist you further. Sorry, but I am not going to reset my headset. I have been instructed to do so before by customer service and have already done so on 3 different occasions. It never solved the problem.
As an update, I have been using my controllers with gloves during workout and for the past 3 days there is no report on my right controller of low battery when a fresh battery is inserted. I have had full workouts and the right controller has yet to die. I remove the batteries between workout. I am hoping that these steps will solve the issue, but I still believe that given that I have had the same issue with 3 different right controllers, there is a design flaw with the right controller. I will let you know if the problem reoccurs.
However, a new problem has popper up. When I turn on my headset, I can use the right controller to select menu items, establish my boundary and scar my room. However, when this is all complete, and I am on the main menu, my trigger button stops working, and only the trigger button on the left controller works. I have to go into setting, device and swamp the left trigger button for the right trigger button to fix this problem. However, when I restart the headset the issue occurs again and I have to repeat the whole procedure. This is a new issue. Do you know why this happens?
