Quest 3 Room layout

How to disable scanning a room before marking it? Because of this forced scanning, the room was built incorrectly and I don’t understand how I can either remove the wall or add a new one to fit it to the geometry of the walls.

Hey @a.merkulov! We know it's important to set up your play area correctly in order to have a smooth gaming experience, so we'd love to help make sure you're all set! To get started, we first want to make sure your area is well lit!

From there, we want to visit the settings option on your device and then select the physical room. Once there, we'll want to click set up room in Quest 3. Here you'll be able to make the needed adjustments to your current scan in order to play your games smoothly! Of course, if there are any bumps along the way, do let us know! We're always happy to help!

1. How to disable room scanning? I want to manually configure the markup I need without scanning.
2. How to edit walls in an already created layout, without rescanning the room?

Hey @a.merkulov! We were scrolling by and saw that you had questions regarding room scanning. We do have a suggestion for you to try out!

  • Press / on your right Touch controller to pull up your universal menu.
  • Hover over the clock on the left side of the universal menu. When Quick Settings appears, select it to open the Quick Settings panel.
  • Select Settings in the top right corner.
  • Select Boundary, then select Roomscale.
  • Scroll down and select Space Sense, then select the toggle next to Space Sense to turn this feature on or off

Let us know if this helps or if you need further assistance!

I couldn't find these settings.
There is no separate tab in the settings called Boundary, this setting is a subcategory in Physical Space, but there is no Roomscale and Space Sense. I first checked it on version 59 of the firmware, then updated to version 60, the items in the settings did not change. Video example recorded on version 60

Hey again @a.merkulov! Thank you for providing that information. We suggest you factory reset your device and re-setup your space. Let us know if you have any questions.

Maybe you have video instructions on how to do this? Or in the form of step-by-step screenshots?

I don’t need instructions on how to reset the settings and I also don’t need instructions on how to configure the space. I need instructions on how to disable room scanning using lidars, so that when I mark the walls for mixed reality I do it myself from scratch and so that scanning does not work when I mark the floor for the gaming area. So that these two aspects would work the same as on the Oculus Quest 2. I just don’t understand why they added this, it wastes time and doesn’t work well, and why didn’t they add a switch in a visible place that allows you to disable the room scanning functionality for marking
