Quest 3 To Pc Low FPS

gorilladonut

When I connect my Quest 3 to my pc it always run horribly. Even if I am 72hz or 120hz it still runs the same and low fps. when I move my head I can see the black border loading. I have a Radeon 6750 gpu. I have a 3.0 cable for it. It also has the same fps and issue whether I'm in a game or home. I really don't know why this is happening my pc is pretty good and pcvr is just not fun with it.

Hey there @gorilladonut,

We'd like to try and help you with your PCVR issues.

Could you tell us a little more?

Does your device play games fine in standalone mode? You mentioned low FPS issues in home so just wondering if this is specific to PCVR.

In standalone it runs great and no issue. The issues only happen in pcvr

Okay, good to know. Let's try to narrow the issue down a little more.

You mentioned that you play with the cable - could we ask you to please try using Air Link

It would be good to know if this makes a difference.

Also would be helpful to know if you are using a USB 3.0 port on your computer for this.

Airlink works fine in fps, but since my Wi-Fi isn't good it isn't the best, but when I used link again the fps was normal again, but once I loaded link again the bad fps was back. I am using a 3.0 port on my pc.

Thanks for taking the time to try that out gorilladonut.

Since you're getting stable framerates while using Air Link, then it sounds like the issue could be with your cable connection.

Do you have any other USB-C cables that you could try for this? It could also be a good idea to try using a different USB port if your PC has more than one 3.0 slot.

I tried a different cable and it was even worse and a different port and it didn't change a thing. I wouldn't really compare my air link to cable because my air link is so bad I can't even use it. Its also been a bit random and sometimes my fps will be pretty normal but then go to bad after.
