Quest 3 Updating problem

Hello everyone
 
I have a problem updating my meta quest 3 goggles.
 
When turning off the update screen indicates that an update is taking place and the device will turn off after updating. After a dozen or so hours (>10 hours) the device is still updating.
 
A simple restart of the device does not give any results.
 
I tried to update the device using the online update tool. I paired the device with the computer but after about 5% of the progress the page shows an update error and tells me to contact the Meta support department.
 
Does anyone have a solution to this problem?

I believe it is fixed now. The Update finally succeeded, and I can move on with the set-up.

Good news diabomb. 

I'll give mine a go. But I'm lacking hope

Mine has just finally updated and he's playing happily! It was just left plugged in and it's completed after several hours

Whilst I am yet to hear back with an official update from the engineering team (they are incredibly busy) it appears that this issue has been resolved!
 
If you haven't done so already, could you please attempt the update process once again and see if it now works on you end?

Had the same issue a few hours ago, and now it worked immediately. Thanks for the fix!

Hab gestern auch ein neues gerät bekomme ,und hänge genau bei diesen Problem Fest Es lädt etwa 10 Prozent des balkens ,und bleibt dann dort hängen ,gibt es dafür eine Lösung ,und ist es eigentlich normal das ich die linse nur bis 70 einstellen kann ?

I understand you are having issues with the update? Have you tried the troubleshooting checks supplied by Meta Quest Support on Page 1? I'll copy them here for you so you can see them more easily:

 

  1. Ensure that you have enough storage space in your Quest headset, as sometimes the Software Updates can be substantial in size and may require enough space in your Quest Device.
  2. Try a different supported browser, Chrome, Edge, and or Opera
  3. Remove Elite Strap with Battery or any third-party accessories from the headset. If you are using an Elite Strap with Battery or other headset accessories please remove it from the headset before attempting to connect the headset to the computer.
  4. Check USB connection. Ensure that you are using a high-quality USB-C cable capable of data transfer for connecting your Meta Quest headset to the computer. The cable provided with your headset will suffice.
  5. Confirm headset software version. Prior to updating your headset manually, verify that it is running the appropriate software. To find the current build number in the headset, navigate to Settings > System > Software Update. It is possible that your device already has the latest version installed.
  6. Try another computer and cable. In the event that none of these steps resolve the issue, attempt connecting your Meta Quest headset to a different computer or try a different USB-C cable that can support data to determine whether the problem is related to the headset itself, the original computer, or the USB connection.

 

In terms of the spacing, yes, 70mm would be the maximum pupillary distance you can adjust to so this would be correct.
