Can any other quest 3 users please confirm for me (because tech support can not because they don't own one) if you have a fully charged Meta quest 3 and you use it while it is still connected to power should the charge be going down ??? Or did I get a dud....

Same issue here. I played PCVR wireless, with the cable plugged into a wall socket and the battery still depleted.

I also noticed that the battery drains even though it is connected to the Quest3 included charger.
When I sniffer the USB-PD, it seems that Quest3 is requesting 5V instead of 9V for the voltage when it exceeds 60%.
The problem is that when the battery is low, Quest3 does not request 9V...

Yes it is normal for the Quests battery to deplete if you charge whilst using it, but it should deplete at a much slower rate.
There are two possible reasons I can think of:-
1. The Quest consumes power faster than the charger/cable can supply it.
2. (most likely reason) Fast charging creates a lot of heat. The Quest's Snapdragon processor also creates a lot of heat when it's working hard. Therefore, it probably charges at a reduced rate whilst being used to prevent overheating.

I have the same problem. Meta2 was fine for watching movies for hours with power injected link cable while the Meta3 is done after 1.5 HRS of watching Prime. I use 45W power brick with INIU Oculus Link Cable with Charging. Is there any fix in the works for firmware update? Meta2 was much better in this department. This is very frustrating almost deal breaker.
Please let me know. Thank you.

Same issue on my Quest 3s. I was using the Puzzling places app with the cable plugged in as it was at 45% when I started playing. I don't think puzzling places is a particularly power hungry app but it quite quickly dropped to 15% even though it was plugged in.
