Quest 3 battery refusing to charge

Hi All,

A couple of days ago my Quest 3 VR headset started playing up. It was plugged in and charging but it’s now refusing to charge or turn on and gives me a blinking red light. I don’t know what it indicates or how to fix it. I charge it through my PC.

Ya, 45W would also work fine.  For me, 30W still charges much faster than the stock 18W Q3 charger and is less expensive than 45W chargers.  Just make sure the charger includes a usb type-C port (some include both type-A and type-C ports).  Your $'s so your decision.

Also, like most Q3 accessories, I recommend trying to buy them from your local Amazon store because they have a good/easy 30 day return window, just incase they don't work well for you.  Cheers.

First of all, don't charge it through your PC usb ports.  Use the supplied Q3 charger.

After the latest non-ptc v77.1026 update, with my +1.5yo Q3/512Gb and meta Q3 elite battery strap (which I luv btw) I did find I needed to charge both separately in order to get them to sync properly.  Now both charge up together fine.

Also, I don't use any unofficial side loaded apps like Quest Games Optimizer or the SideQuest app settings.  I also don't have or use a meta Developer account, nor do I enroll in PTC/Beta's.  Like everything VR, it's best to use the KISS principle imho.

I have the issue that I don’t HAVE my Q3 charger to hand, I’m not sure where it went.

@Jono1945  I suggest you search your local Amazon store for a 30 watt usb type c charger.  I think you’ll find these are a lot less expensive than buying the stock Meta 18 watt Q3 charger.
