Quest 3 does not power on

Moredread1
Honored Guest

Hi,

I own a quest 3. I did not play for like half a year. Yesterday I tried again and found out, that my quest 3 does not power on. And no, the power button combined with the volume button for 30 seconds did nothing. Usually when I plugged in a USB Cable, a LED would become visible. But not anymore. Changing the USB-Port on the PC side didn't help. To me, the device looks as dead as possible. Any suggestions what to do?

Hi @Moredread1, thank you for contacting us about your issues regarding the Quest 3. We understand that you have tried some troubleshooting steps however, you cannot turn the headset on. We will suggest you attempt to charge the headset for 2 hours, the headset must be left powered off or in a sleep state during this time.

If the headset will not charge, please ensure these following steps:

  • Try a different cable/charge (besides the USB-Port on the PC that you have tried), if possible, test the cable and charger (adapter) separately to determine the faulty component.

  • Try charging from a different Source (another PC or different wall outlet). However, if trying to charge from a computer, please take note of the following:
    - Computers typically provide less power than outlets and may require more time to charge.
    - Computers may also stop charging peripherals if the peripheral is completely powered off (causing the computer to not recognize the presence of the device), or if the computer itself goes into a sleep state. This is dependent on the port, motherboard, BIOS settings (not all of which may be visible in every BIOS) and USB power settings. BIOS settings vary between computer models, so we cannot help with these.
    - While in use, the headset will typically consume more power than the computer port can provide, resulting in the battery charge decreasing over time. The headset must be off or in a low power (sleep) state to charge.

  • We recommend that you charge the headset without the facial interface. As some facial interfaces may block the proximity sensor which can impact the power of the headset.

  • Please could you clarify if you are using the Elite Strap with Battery or any third-party accessories that may affect battery charging or consume power (such as external battery packs, external fans, etc.) If so, please disconnect the Elite Strap with Battery or any third-party accessories and try charging the headset again.

Please let us know if these help resolve you issue and don't hesitate to contact us for further support. We hope you have an amazing day!
