Quest 3 doesn't work with AMD 7900xt

Whenever I use my link cable I disconnect after 15-20 minutes of use.

I assume this is a driver issue... Any knowledge on when there will be one?

Basically with Nvidia having 80% market share, Meta won't want to pander to the 20% with the hope you go out and spend £1500 on an nvidia product just to use a £400 headset......ebay here i come !

That solution of going to debug and redefaulting settings manually and specifying max of 200 for both streaming and fixed rate seemed to fix the issues for now and apparently wired mode changed those values and need to go back and edit again since max values are a little different.

I had the same problem. Then, I used airlink instead cable link, and it worked perfectly

This is part of the reason why I use Virtual Desktop instead of Link or Air Link. I found long ago that Link in general is just not compatible with AMD GPUs. It's been that way since Link first came out for the Quest (and maybe before, with the Rift line; I'm not sure). Used to be no matter what bitrate I set it to, I'd have severe compression whether wired or not wired, but it was playable. Would get swimmy when spacewarp kicked in, but mostly okay. Now, however, I can't use it whether wired or wireless at all, as everything goes super swimmy right away, even just in the Dash menu, and has horrible input lag (it feels like I'm playing Ironlights). So much input lag that it takes a full minute for me to get the controller to point at the "exit" button and go back to regular standalone interface. I have an AMD 5700 GPU.

  • So far I've used an i7 10700 F with an RTX 3070 and 32GB of RAM. I have moved to an AMD Raizen 5800X with a Radeon RX 7900. XT, using the Quest 3. I tried the cable link and although in principle it works, it immediately stops doing it. However, it gives me the opportunity to use the Air link and FS3020 runs very smoothly with all the options in ULTRA. I have passed this one to this computer thinking about FS 2024, adding 64 GB of RAM.

So my top end card is just not supported!?!?

Nope.

I've had it with the Quest3. Can't even connect unless I use Virtual Desktop. Oculus/meta app refuses to connect.

I've been playing fs2020 for over 2 months now on a PC with an AMD Ryzen 7 5800X processor and an ASUS Dual Radeon RX 7900 XT graphics card. I also use my Oculus 3. To use airlink, I first opened Oculus Link. I connected the glasses with the link cable and paired the glasses by checking the airlink tab. Then I disconnected the cable and everything works perfectly. After several times, it is no longer necessary to connect the cable. Greetings
