Quest 3 draining battery while off when connected via Quest Link Cable to USB-C motherboard port

I bought a Quest 3 recently to replace an aging Quest 2. The Quest 3 fails to charge via Quest Link Cable even while off. I tested side-by-side as follows.

Before: My Quest 2 is plugged into the Quest Link Cable into a USB 3.2 USB-C port on the back of my ASUS Pro B550M motherboard. The Quest 2 charges fairly rapidly while completely powered off (hold power -> power off).

Now: My Quest 3 is plugged into the same cable connected to the same point of the same motherboard. The Quest 3 drains 1% battery every 10 minutes while powered completely off (hold power -> power off).

Conclusion: The Quest 3 is *pushing* power over the charging cable instead of *drawing* power while off, which is very worrisome.

Notes: I've gone back-and-forth several times with both headsets side-by-side on my desk. The problem affects the Quest 3 and never the Quest 2. I've also gone into the Android menu to shut down the Quest 3 (Vol Down + Power -> Power Off). The problem persists.

Hey there @JLemon37!

Have you tried charging the Quest 3 through just a regular power adapter instead of the Usb-C port on the motherboard?

If it charges fine with a regular power adapter, the issue could be the power delivery from the Usb-C port itself as the Quest 2 and Quest 3 draw differing wattages and voltages. Here is a community post that helps explain the Quest 3 power draw and usage -> Community Post

Hope this helps! 🐢
