I have a quest 3 which is connected via cable link to my pc. Yesterday the headset updated to the latest V62 software and now I cannot connect via quest link cable. Air Link is working fine (but is not stable enough), the quest 3 is recognised by the pc in the meta quest app. The cable passes the usb test, and i have done a factory reset of the headset which has had no effect. The software is 62.0.0.273.:343.

I got the same v62 update yesterday and I'm not having any problems with either my Q3 or QPro using Link or Air Link. I suggest you contact meta support including your log file to see if they can identify what may be causing your issue.
Sometimes downloading the meta link pc app from the meta support website and running a Repair can help. Sometimes disconnecting your link cable from your headset and connecting it again can also help. Good luck sorting this out mate.

I am having exactly the same problem. I've owned a quest 3 for about a month and has been linking to my pc via cable perfectly.
Since update V62 however I cannot get the headset to pair with the pc at all. Have tried the Repair option but no luck.

OK, short answer, it will work, temp maybe, what I mean is, every time you disconnect, you have to go through the same thing: here goes...
remove headset from list in devices of Oculus then remove the lead, and reboot headset.
Reboot windows, and after letting windows do its jiggery pokery, be patient, now windows is running normal, connect lead to PC, and Voila... the lead is now seen. follow for normal setup.
I've had to do this on my MSI GS 66 Laptop, and on my MSI B660 pro desktop. but I know I will have to do them again next time.
a pain... yes, but it proves your lead is OK, and you're defo not losing your mind.
hope it helps you getting there.

Currently in contact with Meta as I have this error currently on 16(!) PCs. My research has concluded that its actually Meta Quest Link's newest driver update that is having issues with OpenXR.
Look on youtube for the following, as I'm currently trying out this fix: How to FIX Meta Quest Link after V68 in 2024 (fix Pavlov, DCS, VRChat, OpenXR)
All VR builds that I'm running are currently not working, probably due to the OVR driver update.
