Quest 3 losing tracking and teleporting everything away

Ishan234

Hi All,

Started getting a random tracking issue recently. I'd be playing a game (such as eleven table tennis), and everything will randomly teleport and phase far away including the controllers. It will often inverse me so it will put me at the opponent's side of the tennis table which is hugely inconvenient. This also happens randomly during the home screen and all other games.

I've tried:

• Going into a different room with no reflective sources, with 2 LED Tube lights

• Resetting my guardian boundaries multiple times

• Restoring settings to default

I really don't want to reset the headset as I've also spent a while getting and curating a list of custom beatsaber songs, which would be a huge inconvenience to redownload (500+ songs).

Any ideas on how this could be fixed?

Hi Ishan234, with the time between your last session, we recommend updating your software and reviewing the following:

  • Ensure your area is well lit, with enough light to see clearly, but no direct sunlight
    • Ensure your area is free of small lights such as Christmas lights, or LED strips
    • Ensure your area is free of reflective surfaces such as mirrors, glass, or polished marble
  • Ensure the tracking cameras are clean
  • Remove unsupported third-party accessories that may affect tracking or controller detection.
    • Controller and headset covers, controller attachments, etc.
  • Remove the battery from the controller for 30 seconds
    • Fully charge for 2 hours
  • Unpair and pair the controller to the headset

Once all "up to date," please advise of any persistence and we'll dive deeper down(If necessary)!

Hi there,

I tried all the steps above but it didn't work. I've reset the headset and now all seems to be fine - not quite sure what the issue was to be honest.

For future reference, is there a way to reset all settings without factory Resetting the headset?

Hey hey hey!

Thanks for reaching back to us. The only way to reset the settings would be through a factory reset, yes. Although we always recommend trying out smaller, less invasive steps first.

Regardless, we're happy that everything is sorted! If you need any help in the future, please let us know!

See you in VR!

Is it really needed to reset whole google? It seems I faced the same problem
