Quest 3 lost all tracking

Brand new quest 3 just arrived, configured an everything was doing pretty well. Was just logging into a game when all tracking just stopped working, a window saying "Tracking lost" showed up, but I couldn't click anything since the controllers stopped working too, hand tracking also wasnt working. I tried cleaning up the cameras with a very soft towel, tried rebooting, resetting to factory settings, everything I could. The screen is either completely black, black with a dot or on the starting screen asking to turn on the controllers, but the screen just moves randomly and isn't following the headset movements at all. There is a white dot blinking on the left controller and they keep vibrating every few seconds.

Hi after reading this whole thread i think i'm the latest member of the wearable brick club. I am in possession of my unit since october 2023. I have and use the officiaal quest 3 charging dock and i also use the BoboVR M3 Pro headstrap. Recently started using it every day (3 week) for about 30 minutes playing FitXR. (moving a lot and sweating a bit yes!)

Yesterday suddenly out of nowhere i get the infamous no tracking error. This happened about 5 minutes after putting the headset on and i was still in the menu. I tried all the stuff mentioned in this thread but it wont recover. Now after factory reset im stuck with the music, no responsiveness and occasional image (for about 1s) if i quickly remove and put the headset back on. Controllers blinking and vibrating etc..

I'm going to try to replace it with the retailer i bought it from and/or start a support ticket to document this. Surely this all sounds like something in the design is failing us ?

I sweat like a pig in general, especially in this heat, so the headset's probably having a **bleep**ed-up time dealing with all that fluid drying on the inside. I'm guessing in winter months there wouldn't be these kinds of problems.

They could've put some kind of air-con unit on the inside, but I'm guessing that would've killed the battery time (not to mention made the unit heavier).

But it's working again, and I'm happy with that (and I know what to do if it happens again). That's what matters.

It seems like it’s a single failed component that’s causing this. Essentially the sensor connections are corroding. All they need to do is work on waterproofing these.

Got my headset few days ago, yesterday it stopped working. I'm returning it now. It's a bit absurd that it's so fragile. I'll try a new one, but in the meanwhile it would be decent that all my subscriptions are paused.

I've tried that but developers tell to contact meta and meta says contact developers. They won't be able or doesn't want to pause subscriptions. For me it's the main reason i don't do subscriptions.

Here I am, joining the club on this beauty of a feature.  10 days after purchase with a brick.    What a complete disappointment.

Was just playing and the tracking went wonky, then the message and no matter what I do the tracking failure persist.

Hey there, @Austintatious69

Austintatious69….please ignore the patronising and distasteful advice give immediately above. Your headset is essentially bricked so you should return it as soon as possible. It’s disappointing that Meta won’t accept that this is a clear design flaw but that’s the world we live in I guess.

Yes, I spent hours following all that bull**bleep** advice before I even made my post once I realized I have a brick.  For them to just post it again and again to those like me suffering from their faulty product and poor ass customer support is really indicative of how little they give a **bleep**.

Wow i didnt know this was so common. My oculus quest 3 headset has become unusable. when i boot up  im taken to the home screen like normal BUT the tracking never comes into effect and the horizon main screen just drags along to the movement of my head. My controllers keep vibrating and flashing but are unusable. The volume button still produces the white dot and allows me to click but since everything on the screen is moving along with my head im unable to aim at anything. I think the issue is coming from the locks where the facial interface connects on the quest 3. Moving my facial interface causes a black screen to appear like it about to connect to the tracking again but just go back to the same problem a second later. I tried buying a new facial interface and the problem persists. Something is wrong with my quest 3 please help vr is very important to me
