Quest 3 mic is greyed out/voice not registering

Hi 🙂

The mic on my Quest 3 stopped working sometime in the last 24 hours. I used it yesterday in an app where i talk to an npc, tried it today and my voice isn't registering. On the virtual keyboard in the meta browser the mic is grayed out and doesn't do anything if i try to select it. But get this - just now I visited a website that records your voice and that worked ok (it recorded my voice). The permissions are all on. The mic isn't muted. I've done a factory reset. Any ideas appreciated?

Make sure the microphone is enabled in the system. You can control this through the system settings.

If it's disabled, no application has access to the microphone.

Tried it this morning, apps can now use the mic but the virtual keyboard mic in the meta browser is still grayed out and unavailable.

Same issue here, I even DL'd an app to test the mic (as there seems to be no way to do so built in) and it works, but the keyboard mic is greyed out.

There seems to be a serious lack of settings for this device.

So the problem is just the microphone button in the virtual keyboard?

Confirmed mic was allowed in browser settings,

keyboard settings only has one option, nothing to do with the mic

click on mic in the browser search bar brings up keyboard where mic is greyed out

Also tried rebooting the headset but still no joy (did fix an annoying continuous tone in the Home environment tho' 🙂

Hey hey! Anyone still having this experience with their mic? If everything is back on track can you let me know what steps you did that helped? The headset version you are currently on?

I want to get as much information as possible to get a better look into this issue you're having.

Still not working for me:

On the Meta store clicking on the search bar microphone pops up with:

'voice commands unavailable, experimental feature not available for this device

The browser is the same as before, shows mic in searchbar but mic on keyboard greyed out

keyboard settings has one setting, auto correct

Software version 59 with no updates available

But running the mic testing app records my voice and I don't have any other apps that use the mic I could test it with.

I'm having the same issue... hopefully someone figured out how to fix this.
