My new Quest 3's microphone doesn't pick up any sound (or barely shows any pickup at all) and is almost muted when used in social games (or any other app) to others.
It was only when I physically covered the Front microphone (the black strip between the front cameras) is when the microphone started to CLEARLY pickup and others can hear me.
To my understanding, the front microphone is there for the purpose of cancelling noise of the room. In my case however, it seems to be the reason why my main microphone is always muted.
I've tried everything even Hard Reset to factory. the problem persists.
Any help is appreciated.

This issue makes Voice Attack not work which is absolutely essential if you fly planes in VR like in DCS World.
Just add an option to turn off this noise cancelation feature in the Quest settings.
That's clearly the solution to the problem.
It's a known issue that you need to turn that off with other microphones to get voice recognition to work.
You absolutely have to have an option to turn it off especially for PCVR, but for stand alone too.

It's 2025 and this issue is still here hahaha
