Quest 3 not loading/connecting to any (online) Apps anymore

Hello there,

since yesterday morning, I've been having problems randomly with my Quest 3, as I can't use any online apps anymore. Although the headset is successfully connected to the internet and I have access to Google, YouTube, etc., I can't use voice commands or start any game that uses an online service. Additionally, the "People" app often crashes right after launch and I can't make or receive calls from my friend (through the Quest).

I've already performed the following steps twice and it worked after try and error randomly, based on a tip from Reddit, but unfortunately, it no longer works: I logged out of the Meta app on my phone, logged in, launched an app via the phone, and restarted my Quest. Sometimes it worked, sometimes it didn't. However, this workaround is no longer effective.

I have also tried the following things without success:

  • Removing and re-adding the headset's WLAN (5GHz) multiple times (Starlink)
  • Completely restarting the WLAN (router)
  • Restarting the headset
  • Attempting to update the headset (no Updates available)
  • Launching any app via the mobile app
  • Factory resetting the headset

Unfortunately, none of these attempts have been successful. I don't understand why it's no longer working, especially since it used to work flawlessly before and I didn't change anything. 

I would like to mention that despite everything, I have noticed that it could be something related to my internet, even though it worked perfectly before AND it STILL WORKS but not for online services in game etc. only using the Browser, YouTube, etc. I haven't changed anything, but as a test, after the factory reset, I connected my Quest to my phone's hotspot, and through that, I can finally use everything again.

If anyone has any ideas on what I could do to fix the problem, please let me know. I am absolutely clueless and have tried just about everything within my power. My Starlink internet worked perfectly before and never caused any problems, so I don't understand why it shouldn't work now. However, I must also mention that after the last Meta Quest 3 update, 1-2 errors or bugs occurred, for me and my friend. Perhaps that's another issue.

Support just refers me to Starlink, even though Steam / Valve has no issues, Epic, Gog, Evercade, Nintendo - no problems. But it's not a Quest issue...

Hello,

since october i have the same problem. Internet works fine with youtube and browser. But no internet connection in all stand alone games.

Tried  the steps above and no starlink

Any news to this Problem?

I need help with my new quest 3s that Santa brought and we aren’t able to play. The screen says USB update mode and nothing works that I’ve read.

Exactly the same issues as you. I’ve done everything just like you on my quest 2. Problems still there. I even bought the quest 3S and the problems was also present. Big dissatisfaction.

Hi, im having the exact same problem. I'm using a Meta Quest 3s and have also tried all the things the original poster tried. This issue has been persisting for a few weeks now and I've been relying on my phone's data to download updates both for Meta apps and for the Quest 3s itself. Any further guidance or solutions would be appreciated.

 

If you are using Satrlink, reboot the router and satellite.
