Quest 3 not recording audio when in games.

My quest 3 isn't recording audio, I've tried booting my headset and I've even tried factory reseting it. I also had this on my quest 2 and it didn't stop, the issue then carried on to my quest 3. Everything records perfectly fine in mixed reality mode and in the home menu, however whenever I am in any game, it doesn't include any audio whatsoever. My headset is up to date as I purchased it last week. Please help, thanks!

So we can look into this further. We would like to ask for some additional information about what you are experiencing: 

 

  • Does this happen when you are recording anything or only with certain games?
  • Have you tried any troubleshooting to help resolve this issue? Such as rebooting or restarting your headsets?
  • Are you using any third-party devices to record rather than the built-in microphone for your headset?
  • Are you using a link cable or Air link to connect to a PC while recording?

 

Please provide as much information as you can about what you are experiencing. Once we have more details, we will be able to better assist you with some troubleshooting steps. We look forward to hearing back from you!

So, whenever I have this issue seems to be the third recording I make after I turn my headset on, after that issues such as no game audio, no mic audio or no audio whatsoever happen. Also, if I put my headset into sleep mode then turn it back on, the audio recoding also has these issues. I am using nothing external, and this issue happens only when I am in a game, everything works perfectly fine in the home menu or mixed reality mode, but the issue happens with every game.

To report a problem from the Meta Quest mobile app:

  1. From the Meta Quest mobile app, select the menu on the bottom right.
  2. Select Help and Support, then select Start a Report.
  3. Select Report a Problem then type an explanation where prompted.
  4. Select Send at the top right.

Hello @HarryA_0207! We know how important this is to you for the audio record functionality to work. Lets us see what we can do for you. Whenever you click the camera button and hit record, does it have a pop-up window for you to enable the mic? It's possible it's coming up unchecked when you go to record. If that does not fix the issue, please go ahead and submit that bug report for us. We hope this was helpful information.

The pop up does appear on my screen, I always have it checked but it still doesn't work

We understand the importance of getting that audio feedback in games and how important it is when recording the experience. For more clarification, may you provide the following information

 

  • Is this just happening with one particular game or multiple?
  • If you are connecting to your PC, are you connecting via a link cable or Air Link?
  • Have you reset your microphone?
    • Settings > System > Sound > Toggle Microphone

We would really appreciate any other details you could provide to help us get to the bottom of the issue.
