Quest 3 not rolling back version after opting out of PTC

I wanted to try the new PTC version that came out recently but I didnt know that it would interefere with quest link. After turning PTC off my device didnt update or factory reset and my version is still 62 even after manually factory resetting my device. Any fixes?

Hey there, @Anonymous! You shouldn't have to continue with these headset update issues, so we'd like to do everything we can to get your VR gaming experience back on track! Jumping into it here, for this issue, we recommend hard rebooting your headset to refresh the software. Please use these steps to do so and let us know your results:

  1. Turn off your headset.
  2. Firmly hold the power and volume down (-) buttons on your headset simultaneously for about a minute, or until the boot screen loads on your headset.
  3. Use the volume buttons on your headset to highlight 'Boot device' and press the power button to complete that.

That did not work for me I'm still stuck on the PTC version 63

after about an hour of tech support the guy said it was the regular firmware and not PTC 63

Never rolled back never gave me the option after I opted it out of PTC updates

. My quest 3 device did nothing after a half hour I went ahead and did a factory reset using the app beside the disabled opted firmware option in the Android app

it still remained on version 63..

I use the buttons like you said and did a manual factory reset still on 63..

Opted back in tried it again reset the firmware

Opted back out and in factory resetting each time

still nothing and no option when nothing happens 

I opt out no nothing happens

when I opt out nothing 

All I can do is factory reset that's it.. 

I was on ptc v 62  And it has not worked since PTC v 63. .

If I am not on PTC and it's regular v63 firmware it still does not work And I'm not getting any help from tech support this is not cool I do not want to wait till the next update that would be wrong of you all I paid $600 for this and paid money for all the games that only work on this device because y'all don't put the games for the PC VR version and the store anymore..

please help me on a loyal customer

I guess I have to RMA it they said because there's no way to roll back the os .. I hear I'll get a refurbished one

the one I have is new and in mint condition

I bought it brand new because I wanted new lenses that don't have scratches as I use lens inserts and take very good care of my things I have

I hate that I might be getting a second hand device that might has scratches and germs on it when I bought a mint condition device.. 

@jollyjesus you may or may not get a new or refurbished device. The chances are 50/50, but rest assured all refurbished devices go through several extensive quality checks to ensure they hold the same integrity as a new unit. We hope that you get a resolution soon and enjoy your replacement device!

I am having similar issues.  Games not of the Quest store are having issues, I also am receiving a USB C debris or moisture error and I cannot sustain power to the headset for even a minute.  This is all BS and is going to cause a lot of controversy as I have read in other posts.  v63 is garbage and a backup method for reverting to older more stable firmwares need to be taken into consideration.  It is crap like this that some members of the community like to find ways to hack their systems and put custom firmware's on their devices (of which I am surprised that no one has done so yet) (*PSP and PSP Vita and PS3 owners take note*)  Fix this **bleep** thing, or at least fix the problem with a temporary firmware upgrade before finalization is released.  You all know what the problems are... Whatever the crap Meta added to their new firmware... REMOVE IT and go back to v60 (the most stable version thus far) and then slowly add new updates.  As far as I am concerned this is all a money scam for a headset that probably cost only $50 to make, as this is all about making as much money for the cheapest parts possible - (think about it... it is really nothing more than a phone, cased out to existing software to make it a VR headset, there is nothing really new about it as far as technology goes, it is just copying existing stuff and tweaking it to suit new needs).  I have a PSVR2 and they are coming up with new ideas to make PC VR a reality for them.  If that happens, Meta could be in real trouble.  Fix the issues cause I have not been able to do anything with my headset for a week now.  Also, I don't have a smartphone (hey some don't, don't judge) and having to use a phone to setup your quest is ludicrous at best.  Come on.. Meta can't make setup through their own device like every other major company???  Very suspicious.  Unless these are fixed, there could be an RMA issue in the future, and or class action lawsuit, of which I will jump on board with.  Thank you for your time.
