I live in Brazil and I am eager to buy a Meta quest 3 (512Gb). I found it on a store near my house. The box looks good (no scratches or any sign of wear) and it is sealed.
Everything seemed fine until I asked the vendor about the warranty. He said that the product comes with a 6-month warranty FROM META. I went home and began searching.
I found out that the Meta Quest 3 on Meta's website has a 1-year warranty and that Meta does not deliver their products in Brazil. Furthermore, reading the limited warranty terms on Meta's website, I also learned that the warranty doesn't cover products bought from other sources than Meta or authorized retailers. I believe the store is not an authorised retailer, so how do they claim that Meta offers a 6-month warranty?
Even though the warranty period is wrong, I want to buy it there, because I can take it home immediately. I think the vendor is confused. If I purchase it, will I get the 1-year warranty as said on Meta's website?
Another problem is my location. If I buy it and my headset stops working, will I be able to return it to Meta and get a replacement here in Brazil?
How do I know if the headset is new or refurbished? The vendor doesn't let me open the box before purchasing it.
Even with all those issues, should I Buy it there?
