Quest 3 won't load games

TheHispanic
Honored Guest

I have the Meta quest 3, I haven't had it very long and it's having issues. It's not wanting to load games. The main ones it won't load are Pavlov and ghosts of Tabor. Pavlov will load then go black screen and nothing else. Ghost of Tabor will have the sign for it like it's loading but it won't do anything else. I've restarted the headset, I've uninstalled and reinstalled both apps. I've done everything short of factory resetting the headset and it still won't load the games. I really don't want to have to factory reset the headset and lose all my games save data.

We appreciate you checking that out and letting us know, @BloodyCountess! Could you also let us know what happens when you try to get past the agreement screen on Gorilla Tag? If possible, a screenshot of the screen you are receiving in both Gorilla Tag and Beat Saber when you try to launch them would be extremely helpful here! Aside from that, have you been able to complete a hard reboot from the headset boot menu? If not, please try these steps to see if that gets your games working as normal:

  1. Turn off your headset.
  2. Hold the power and volume down (-) buttons on your headset simultaneously until the boot screen loads on your headset.
  3. Use the volume buttons on your headset to highlight Boot Device, and press the power button.

We look forward to hearing from you, so get back to us when you can!

Hey there, and thanks for bringing this concern to our attention! We definitely want to make sure you're able to enjoy your games as you please, so we'd be happy to take a further look. To help us continue working from where you left off, we would also like to have the following completed:

  • Log out of the Meta Quest mobile app
  • Hard reboot the headset by holding the power button for 30 seconds.
  • Log back into the Meta Quest mobile app

Once all set, do let us know how things continue to appear! We want to exhaust all options before attempting a factory reset of the device.

Not the same person who asked this question.   Got mine yesterday, was working fine…..today, when loading a game I get those 3 white dots.   Tried this suggestion, still does not work.  Please help

Hi there, @BloodyCountess! We certainly want to make sure your headset is running in tip-top shape, so we appreciate you bringing those loading issues to our attention! To help us get a better grasp of what might be causing this, we'd like to ask a few questions. When you get the chance, please go through the following:

  • Are you experiencing this issue with all apps or only certain ones? Are the apps being downloaded from the official Meta Quest app store?
  • Are you using your headset standalone or connected to a PC?
  • Is your headset up-to-date? Check out this link to confirm that!
  • Have you been able to test to see if you can load the games while connected to a different Wi-Fi network? If you haven't already, please check to see!
  • Is the Home Environment having any issues?

Did buy songs on beat saber, maybe they are still downloading (not sure how that takes, waited for a while.
Was able to open YouTube.
Not using a PC
Checked out the software link provided, hit the squiggly meta button, not sure what the rectangle is. Pushed the squiggle- no menu popped up

I have no different Wi-Fi to try

No home environment issues

Thanks for the swift reply, @BloodyCountess! Just to be sure we fully understand, is Beat Saber the only game experiencing this issue? Is it having issues launching or downloading? If you haven't already, try installing a free game/app to test and see if the issue happens there. Gorilla Tag and Superhot VR are both free games! Aside from that, are you having issues opening the menu when clicking the Meta logo button on your right controller? This should bring up the menu bar at the bottom, from which you can go to settings to ensure the headset software is up-to-date. Let us know if you're able to do that at all!

And thank you as well.  Gorilla tag opened, but I couldn’t pass the agreement screen.
When I hit the Meta logo, I only get quick settings. Then selected settings, software shows up to date
