It's been 3 days that I've purchased a TP-Link BE9300 modem. I have a powerful PC with 64 GB ram and RTX 4080 ti, Good ethernet cables, and Air link just keeps being VERY unstable.
Meta help center just keeps going through a long list of common issues
both quest and pc on same wifi and same band
pc connected via wifi AND ethernet
no wifi mesh
no other devices connected to the wifi
diagnose the wifi network (done)
change bitrate with Oculus debug tool. (tried everything from 10 to 900)
restart pc and quest
reinstall everything
factory reset quest
close firewall
make sure latest drivers and app versions are installed
sacrifice a chicken to the Zoroastric Gods at midnight. (ok, that is the only one that I haven't tried)
I've done all of this many times over and now I am still waiting for them to answer after 48 hours. In the meanwhile, air link -sort of- works but everything starts trembling at random and some times freezes. I've seen tons of complaints on these and other forums. So... should I just give up? are there any users with a good experience? because I suspect Air link only works for very light apps.
I am currently trying steam link. I wrongly took it for granted that the company that developed quest would offer the best accompanying software but I was completely wrong.
