Quest App Updates ready to install -- but never do

I have a five year old (Oculus - pre Meta) Quest.  Every once in a while, I apply system updates and update the installed apps.  When I did this in January, the system updates went fine, but now I have 6 app updates (Beat Saber, Star Wars: Tales, Meta Quest TV, Browser, Move and Scoreboards) that are stuck in the queue and won't update.  They all say "To update, launch in your headset", but launching any of these does not update.

I *suspect* this is happening because two of them (Beat Saber and I think Browser) show in the store as no longer supporting the original Quest.  [ed.  This is CRAZY for a product that is only a bit over 5 years old!]

I am hesitant to do a factory reset, lest I end up with a headset that won't work at all.

Is there a way to just clear the update queue somehow?

I think you are right...... and I believe this is one of the reasons why beat saber finally is cross buy.

So people with Quest 1 can at least play their game when linked to pc.

You should still be able to  play it on Quest standalone though, but multiplayer won't work without updating.

Scoreboard is removed since December. not only for Quest 1, but for all. So, just uninstall it.....one less on your queued apps.

Thanks for the reply.  I don't want to uninstall it, because it does work as is - its just an update is stuck.  I don't need multiplayer.

Oh, I didn't mean uninstalling beat saber......I also wouldn't do that.🙂

I mean scoreboard, which not exist anymore.......so at least this one will dissapear from your queued updates

I don't think I installed a scoreboard, unless it is part of BeatSaber itself and came along for the ride on an earlier update.  The queued update is for Beat Sber itself (along with the other apps I listed.)

You listed "scoreboards" so I thought, you had an update queue for it too..... and you didn't need to install it, it comes with the Quest firmware.

But Meta removed "scoreboards" in December 2024, newer versions don't have it.

You are absolutely correct - I had been thinking your reference to scoreboards was something inside Beat Saber.  I will see if removing it makes any difference.

Well, yeah, there is that update in the queue, but the app isn't there.  So there is nothing for it to update.  But I think the sticking point is probably the first one in the queue: Beat Saber.

What is your current beat saber version?

Live is 1.40.1

But there are three former versions you can choose and set as the one to install....1.29.0; 1.34.2; 1.37.1

If you are with your current version above one of those, it would not try to update and should disapear from the queue.

Go in mobile app to the game, scroll down to "more details", tab on the version number.

On the next page, tab on "chanel", a menu folds out and you can set a former game version.

It shows version 1.40.1_3323 .  The update has been stuck in the queue (along with the others) for a couple of *weeks*. 

And indeed, when I changed the channel, it did disappear from the queue.   However, shortly thereafter it re-appeared on the queue, at the top - I will see what happens over the next day or so.
