Quest Link not finding pc on usb

I am unable to have the headset find the PC via USB cable, even with the Oculus app open on the PC and showing the headset connected and ready. I have tried the USB port on the front panel and on the rear panel as well. When I go into the headset and check the Quest Link status, though, it is a continuous spinning wheel and 'Searching for PCs'. Connecting via AirLink finds it right away, though.

Hey Vemika! We see that you are having issues with link cable connections. Trust that this is not the experience we want you to have. No worries, we will make sure we get you moving in the right direction. To give us a better idea of your issue can we get you to try some steps that may help, and provide some information. Let us know about the following:

  • Have you tried any troubleshooting steps?
  • Do you have air link enabled? (If you do, it will not allow you to connect via link cable.)
  • Are you using any third party accessories like the elite battery? (If you are, plug other end of cable directly into headset.)
  • Have you tried uninstalling and reinstalling the app. (This sometimes help!)
  • Can we also have you pull up your logs. You can do so by doing the following:
  1. Open the run window (Windows key + R)
  2. Enter and run: C:\program files\oculus\support\oculus-diagnostics\OculusLogGatherer.exe
  3. Wait for the executable file to pop up
  4. Select logs for the last 24 hours
  5. Wait for the log collection to finish. It should pop up a Windows Explorer window at the location of your newly collected logs.
  6. It automatically generates a zip file and copies the zip to the clipboard so you can paste it to your desktop
  7. Attach this zip file to your next support response
