I had a tracking issue with quest pro's controllers. There was about 11" of offset between the real ones and the virtual display. BIG difference!
After multiple resets nothing changed. I was getting very frustrated and was about to do a factory reset. I decided to check around the internet for some suggestions.
Apparently, since the controllers have cameras for sensing, they can be sensitive to light. My home office is located in my living room which has alot of large windows. So I took the headset into a darker room, placed the controllers behind my back and when I brought them forward they resynced correctly. Time will tell if they lose tracking again.

UPDATE: With v55 almost all problems got solved, so it was indeed a problem with software, it was completely broken for airlink and VD and the controllers weren't working properly due to a poor developed version that they made public with v54... I just don't get how they could risk the business with something so dumb...

Thats great to hear. Im still waiting for the v55 update to show up. Im keeping my fingers crossed that it resolves these nagging issues.

EDIT: Since yesterday JUNE 29th My right controller stopped being detected by the headset and fails to pair now that I tried to unpair and pair it back like they told me to do in META SUPPORT, so since they told me I needed to send them back for repair or replacement because NOTHING AT ALL worked to make it pair again, and the only time it did pair it was flying around the room randomly every 2 seconds, making it impossible to use, then it unpaired again and was never able to pair back to the headset, since Im not going thu a process of warranty on this new headset which is my second and have not even had it for more than 2 weeks Im now just sure I will return it to amazon and never bother buying one again, honestly at this point IM just gonna wait or the next company to release a PCVR that doesn't have unfinished software issues everywhere and just keep playing with my HTC pro or even my Oculus rift lol. Its amazing how those never failed me, my rift is 6 years old and has never broken or failed after hardcore use and abuse... its unbelievable

September 11, 2023. I bought this device a month ago and am experiencing the same issue. Is there a solution?

Not to my knowledge. Can you return it? Maybe get a Quest 3 instead.

I was having problems with tracking as well and when I saw LEDs can mess up tracking, and I have LED strips going around the top of my wall, I thought that could possibly solve some problems with tracking. Another issue I had though was a message saying they were overheating. Does that also affect tracking? And how long should I wait before using them again?

As we have told many others before the best course of action is returning the item and get a refund, if you want decent tracking you can try buying it again as long as you can return the item if it is defective, some people claim they haven thad any issues with the PRO controllers but so far, I havent found a single person that use them for gaming that hasnt had an issue with them, its always either tracking loss, overheating, unable to pair them, unable to turn them back on for a while, unable to update them, really bad battery life, non charging issues, etc. The list goes on on a very long road of problems. So my advise is return them because the only way META is going to learn not to do this kind of BS again is if everyone with a problem just returns the items for a refund like it happened recently with the ELITE strap fiasco, the only reason pro controllers were not that big of aproblem for them is because they didnt sell too many units to gamers and some of the people that bought them didnt have issues with them but they also barely used them if at all after a few updates. But its a bad product in every way, the idea is amazing but it just has no support or care what so ever from meta. The quest 3 on the other hand has no issues with the controllers you dont need much light to use them, they never desync from the headset, they never over heat they never fail updating or anything like that, sure they are not as good in tracking but they never fail as bad as the pro controllers.

I am using the touch pro on quest pro and quest 3, work without a problem 🙂
(you just have to beware of the led strips, but that’s the case with all controllers that are tracking themself or are tracked by the hmd)
