Possibly this is normal behaviour and I've just forgotten / didn't notice before, but prior to the latest update, when playing a PCVR game via Steam Link or Airlink I would notice drops in frame rate from, well, the lack of frames (or the Debug Tool's performance overlay).
Since the latest update I've noticed a white circle with three lines in (the Meta menu button icon) popping up and hovering unsteadily around the middle of my view for a second or two every time the game struggles a little, exactly like the hourglass cursor does in Windows.
I haven't had my headset on much recently but I don't recall this behaviour, and I find it very distracting, and it completely breaks any immersion, far more than a brief frame rate drop does.
Other than reducing the settings in my game and headset to the point where they can hold a steady 90fps is there any way I can prevent this thing popping up?

SOLUTION:
If any else is seeing the controller menu button icons (small white circle with three horizontal lines or the Meta logo in) appearing in a PCVR game while not actually using the controllers, the solution is to turn off hand tracking, until Meta can release some firmware that fixes the problem.

After some testing it seems that the latest client software update I was forced to install reset all of my settings back to default (thanks for that), and didn't bother to tell me it had done this (thanks for that), but now I've set the refresh back to 90hz and the resolution to 1.3 the annoying Meta 'wait' cursor thingy has almost completely disappeared. Maybe it's always been there, I just never saw it before because my settings were optimal. And not default.
Oh, and FYI Meta the controller tracking is even worse since the last headset / controller update.. I mean seriously messed up. Sure you'll hear about it elsewhere.
