Quest Pro V63 - Colored flecks / sparkles appearing during certain activities

On my Quest Pro on V63, I am noticing occasional "sparkles" or "flecks" of colors on the top 1/3 of the screen in both lenses during certain activities.  Sometimes the 'flecks' are white, but mostly they seem to be different colors.  It most commonly happens when streaming games over Virtual Desktop.  The issue does not present on my PC, only in the headset.  They seem to get better or worse depending on what's on the screen, and sometimes moving my head seems to make it a little worse.  There have been times where they have been numerous enough that it was extremely distracting and made it difficult to enjoy the game I was playing.

@bowow  Maybe try lowereing your bitrate a bit.  Also make sure your PC is ethernet wired to a 1gig router with dedicated 5Ghz, without any other 5Ghz traffic.  Also, avoid dfs channels.  I used to get the very occasional pixel sparkle with my QPro/rtx4090 but I haven't seen this since v62, and now v63.  Otherwise, contact meta support and include your log files to see if they can help identify the cause of your issue.

Good luck sorting this out mate and cheers.

Hi, thanks for the response.  I have two Quest Pro headsets and the issue is the same in both.  Happens whether I use 120mbps bitrate or 20mbps.  Whether I use HEVC 10bit or H264.  It's not a wifi issue - nothing there has changed, and there is no stuttering or anything else that would lead me to believe that there is a problem with the network.  I was not getting any sparkle at all last week, but now it is extremely visible and easy to reproduce on both of my Quest Pro headsets.  Doesn't show up on my PC so it's happening on the headset side.

@TomCgcmfc I also want to add that I did try rolling back my GPU drivers because they updated around the time I noticed this problem, but that didn't fix it.  My only guess is that one of the micro-updates to V63 re-introduced the sparkle issue that others said was fixed in V62.  I haven't had either of my Quest Pro headsets long enough to have ever seen this problem before now, as I got them both after V62.  One of them was brand new in box straight from Meta too, so I doubt it's hardware.

I am enrolled in PTC, not sure if that matters, and both headsets are on 63.0.0.400.  The problem for sure was also happening on the subversion immediately before this, which I think was 63.0.0.39x (not sure last digit).  But 2 weeks ago I was not experiencing any of the colored sparkle / flecks.

Hey @bowow! Thank you for letting us know what steps you have already taken to look into the issue. We understand how seeing those colored specs can be while in game play. Are both Quest Pros on the PTC or V63?  Please let us know how we can further assist.
