I had a very simple question, and I tried looking for the answer and couldn't find it, so I guess I'm doing here cause meta support is no longer a thing apparently.
A year ago, I bought an Oculus Quest Pro form offerup, the guy has said it was under warranty and that he bought it for his friend, and she told him she wanted an index instead. Anyway, my headset broke when i fell on it drunk and went to meta support in regarding the matter. they checked the headset and said no its not under warranty even though I have it on my app saying it ends September 19th. then I contacted them again this time they said this headset is marked as stolen. the guy I bought it from had a fancy sport car so idk why he would steal this headset if that were true or maybe he played me and reported the headset as stolen so he could refund the headset which low and behold when I check my devices it says it has been refunded but not to me. i have tried to explain to meta and they didn't want to listen.
I have tried to get in contact with the seller but whence an item is sold the conversation gets deleted so i had nowhere to go but meta and no luck, I guess.
All of this story is for Two Questions
CAN I WARRANTY A DEVICE if I GET A META DEVICE FORM A THIRD PARTY SITE/APP?
and
How can I tell if a device is marked stolen or lost or anything of the sort before purchase?

Warranty for Third-Party Purchases: Meta's warranty typically applies only to the original purchaser with a valid receipt from an authorized retailer. Devices bought from third-party sellers may not be covered, even if still under the warranty period.
Checking for Stolen/Lost Status: Unfortunately, Meta doesn’t provide a public tool to verify if a device is flagged as stolen or lost. To avoid this issue, request the original receipt from the seller and verify the serial number with Meta support before purchase.

@RaisenOwl_657 the fact that you state you broke it when you fell on it whilst being drunk, meta are under no obligation to honour the warranty.

@RaisenOwl_657 there's no way to find out if a headset is stolen, unless the previous owner/retailer has reported it to meta.
'However, within the period during which our Product Warranty applies, you may transfer the Product Warranty to a person who has acquired the Product if they can provide reasonable evidence that they are now the owner of the Product. '
Meta Horizon Store Terms | Meta Quest | Meta Store
but ultimately all this is moot, as you danced on the headset whilst you were drunk.

You didn't buy it from an authorized Meta dealer (for example, like Amazon) so you have no warranty.
Sounds like you got scammed by the seller. Maybe contact PayPal (if that's what you paid with) and open a dispute. If you used a credit card, maybe check with your bank and see if they can help.

That is what i was looking for, thank you. However, what if I would to purchase another headset and have the proof of purchase.
I am currently looking to buy another headset but only if people got receipt or order number. Do I need to take a selfie with the original buyer with the receipt in my hand to prove I didn't steal it.
what I'm I supposed to do. i want to buy another headset and warranty it. The only reason my last one broke cause I decided to take it with me to my friend's party which I learned my Leason from.
i don't care about the old one as i didn't have much faith in a replacement anyway due to being intoxicated during the time, still had to try though
