Quest Pro left controller not tracking

ArizonaPilot
Explorer

Hi, just got a quest pro and my left controller seemingly does not want to track. The headset detects that the controller is connected and the headset will recognize inputs but the controller will not track. One odd thing is that the controllers led will flash red for a split second and then blinks white.

Hey there! We thank you for trying some steps on your own; it lets us know you're ahead of the game. We hate to hear that you're having tracking issues with your left-pro controller and understand how this can affect you while playing your favorite games. Not to worry, we'll be more than happy to help! Could you please try the following:

  • Try waking them up by quickly pressing the Oculus or Menu buttons.
  • Make sure the tracking cameras of the controllers are clean. Make sure to use the cleaning cloth provided with the Quest Pro, or a dry, non-abrasive microfiber cloth.
  • Try pressing and holding the Oculus button for 5 to 10 seconds. If the controllers re-center, then at least the controller Bluetooth is connected. This means it’s likely the controller is not tracking.
  • Power cycle the controllers: Try rebooting the controller by holding down the Oculus/Menu button until you see the lights change.
  • If power cycling the controllers did not resolve the issue, press Oculus or Menu button to ensure the controller is awake and flashing S.O.S.; then go through the Meta Quest app and unpair/pair the controllers.
  • Last resort step is to factory reset the controller:
    1. Right Controller: Hold A and Oculus buttons until the LED begins flashing red/white.
Left Controller: Hold X and Menu buttons until the LED begins flashing red/white.
    2. Release the buttons immediately after the LED begins blinking red/white.
    3. Perform a manual pairing and check if controller LED would flash blue and white to signal pairing state.
    4. Once paired, controllers may take a while to update and stay unresponsive until they finish, and LED would be purple during the update.

Please let us know if any of this works for you!

I have tried all of you troubleshooting steps.

I have had your tech for not even a week and I already have this problem.

On my left controller, both of the LEDs blink one after the other.

What is the fix.

Hello there @nanondh, we were zooming on by and noticed that you are having issues with your controllers as well. We understand the importance of having the controllers work as intended, since they are part of the VR experience, and we would love to do all that we can to look into this for you!

Since you have tried some troubleshooting on your own, let's provide you a bit more.

Can you please attempt the following:

  • Toggle tracking on and off:
    1. Click on the clock on the left side of the universal menu
    2. Select Settings
    3. Select System from the Settings panel
    4. Select Headset Tracking from the left side panel
    5. Toggle on and off 6DoF tracking.

  • Hard reboot the headset.
    1. Hold down the power button until you see the shutdown button.
    2. Hold the power and volume (-) button on your headset down simultaneously until the boot screen loads on your headset.
    3. Use the volume buttons on your headset to highlight Boot Device and press the power button.
    4. Use the volume buttons on your headset to highlight Yes and press the power button.

  • For the last resort, please factory reset the headset.
    1. First, enable the Cloud Backup on your headset so you can boot the headset back to the way it was after these steps.
    2. Hold down the power button until you see the shutdown button.
    3. Hold the power and volume (-) button on your headset down simultaneously until the boot screen loads on your headset.
    4. Use the volume buttons on your headset to highlight Factory Reset and press the power button.
    5. Use the volume buttons on your headset to highlight Yes and press the power button.

Let us know how this goes!
