Quest Right Controller not working

Anonymous
Not applicable
Basically I just got my quest today and I love it to death but randomly the right controller stopped working. It tracks fine but both triggers dont work, the regular a and b buttons work. I tried changing the batteries which done nothing, restarting the vr, and doing tutorial like 3 times. Something I noticed is when doing the tutorial the animations dont work for you hand on the right at all. Also I realized that the right trigger is constantly down (not physically but in game its always as if its constanyly being pressed down. PLEASE can someone help Im desperate and really want to use this vr.

I just got a brand new Oculus Quest today and everything was working when I booted it up. As soon as it finished the setup and finished the update my right controller stopped working and hasn't worked since. Even after doing multiple correctional steps and doing a factory reset on the quest. It's almost seems to me like whatever update/firmware they put out ruined the right controller. I'm going to try doing a factory reset and leaving the controllers batteryless overnight and see if it helps to fix it. (FYI I stopped using the batteries that came with the remote shortly after the update, after reading about people saying the batteries acid was ruining the connection.)

Looks like I'm joining the club too. Suddenly stopped working an hour ago. Ticket opened so will see how long it goes.

I bought it from a private seller (was unopened) so it's not as though I can return it.

After breaking my head - found a solution that works.
Do a factory reset on the headset, NOT FROM APP. Instructions are below.

After the reset is done, the controllers will update to latest version) and it should start working again.

To perform a factory reset using the headset:

  1. Turn off your Oculus Quest.
  2. Hold the power and volume (-) button on your headset down simultaneously until the boot screen loads on your headset.
  3. Use the volume buttons on your headset to highlight Factory Reset and press the power button.
  4. Use the volume buttons on your headset to highlight Yes and press the power button.
  5. Log in to the Oculus app with the account you'd like to connect to your Oculus Quest headset

Joining the club, left controller just diet. No response from Oculus at all.

Sorry, my Left Controller is not on a diet. It's not working. I've used it for about 3 days now? It's not a headset issue as the controller light doesn't even work. I thought maybe there was something I could do, but after reading this thread it looks like I got lucky and got shipped a DUD.

Thanks Oculus! You know how much gamers love spending hundreds of dollars on a new system, only to find it's broken right out of the box and the company pretends like it's not getting your emails!

My right controller wanders off.  It does everything it's supposed to do when the trigger is pulled or the buttons are pushed. And it turns in the direction it should face when I turn my right hand. But it does it all as if my right had was 8-10 feet away from my body and stuck in the same place. Tried leaving it in standby for two hours while plugged in. That didn't work. tried new batteries. tried more light. Tried unpairing and repairing the controller. Still no good.
