Quest doesn't download anything

I received an original Quest from a friend. Setup and installation were without any issues and worked fine. Then all of a sudden I wasn't able to install / download anything. I tried a few things and finally did a full factory reset but the problem persist.

Whether I try to start a download from the library or the store doesn't change anything. It briefly starts the download but after a few moments immediately goes back to the option do download the app. I can "buy" new (free or test) apps from the store without any problem, but as soon as I want to download them, I get stuck. Almost all 64 GBs are available. I noticed the problem first last weekend and it is the same on different WiFi networks and - as stated before - even after a full reset. Any ideas / tips, what can be done to resolve this? Due to the factory reset, I can't even use the apps I have  paid for / downloaded before...

Hi, I have exactly the same problem.

It was working last saturday, and all of a sudden yesterday I got stuck.

Not sure if the 2 open updates are the problems.

Reset, restart, different WiFi ... nothing worked, contacted the support... waiting for response

Good to know I’m not the only one. Please let me know if you receive any feedback from support!

Contacted support 4 times ... let's better forget that experience, beside restart, reset, ... no real idea.

What I found is that my Quest is linked to the profile, but is not seen in the equipment list in my account.

Also exit and login in my app always wants to install a new equipment, as if there is none attached to the account.

Looking into this problem next

Unfortunately not. Did another factory reset today just to try again but the problem still persists. Maybe I'll try setting it up with a different account if the problem is associated with the account somehow. 

I've been chatting with forum support here for a while now doing trouble shooting without any real results. They've now forwarded the issue to the technical team who should get back to me via email. I'll keep you posted. 

Doing the same on my side, mailing with the 8th support guy in a row 🫣

one workaround i found is adding a second account to the device and then enable app sharing in the admin/first account - and then within that second account, i can surprisingly download/install again.

but that is unsatisfying and not a solution/workaround, because i own 3 quest1 and it's  only  allowed to enable app sharing within one device.

quest/meta is getting more and more horrible broken over the years and so closely tied to the cloud, i can hardly recommend to anyone to buy a quest/meta product.   i have spent so many hours with setup and troubleshooting, it's a waste of time and really sucks.

Thanks for the tip, I just wanted to test it before buying a new one. I got the Quest1 from a friend.

Apparently Meta is doing a terrible job here. Investing so much money just to buy yourself problems is something you should really think about carefully. It's not recommended at all
