Quest link not being able to launch games

Hello, for a while I've been trying to play a new game I just bought on the oculus app, but through pc, whenever I try to launch anything, it fails and says "An unexpected error occurred. Please try again later. (OVR25027186)." I am hoping I didn't just waste 20 dollars just to play PC VR, my pc is compatible and when I'm on quest link everything runs smoothly, I just cant play anything at all. Is there any resolve for this? I don't want to factory rest my VR because I have a lot of data on games I play.

  • Are you able to launch other applications within the PC VR app?
  • Are you using an anti-virus application?
  • Are you an admin user?
  • Is the computer running recent drivers?
  • Does your computer meet the app requirements?

I can run the game, but it dosnt open in VR, it puts up a screen on my computer, but I cannot do anything, it makes me play on my steamVR account and not my oculus account. I don't know what to do, am I able to refund the game or can I have help on playing on my oculus account instead of steam.

Are you able to provide us the exact step by steps you're taking (what you're clicking on and what app it's in) up to the point where you get the OVR25027186 error? Also can you confirm what headset you're using? If you've decided a refund is the best way to go, please check out the automated system, as it will check your eligibility.

I go on quest link, go to my desktop, go to the oculus app, and run gorilla tag, for some reason on the oculus app it runs the steam app, and it gives me an account without my progress. I'm using a quest 2, it works on steam but with a entire new account, and I want all my progress saved.

Hello Meta, I've been also having this problem too, everytime I open quest link and launch steamvr, it opens for a quick second and then closes out on me. I always have to restart my headset and then restart my computer everytime I want to launch steamvr. I wish there was a way to fix this but I don't know how to. I would love if I could get some help with this issue. 

Hey @6ixsm, thank you for the information on what you're experiencing. we know you worked hard to earn your progress. This makes sense now and we do have a bit of information here. Gorilla tag is cross-play. IE: one can play on a Quest 3, with a friend who uses Quest 2, and anther friend who uses Rift S. However, the progression not cross platform. So if you try using SteamVR, that is considered a separate platform from the Standalone Quest 2 headset. To access your Quest 2 data you would need to play it as a stand alone device. Using the link effectively puts you on a different platform (think of it as the difference between Xbox and PlayStation) So it has it's own separate data. If you'd like to provide the developer feedback and request the feature, you may do so here.

 

Hello @DJ_GODzz I see you're also run into some challenges with using SteamVR. I know you're looking forward to doing some gaming using your PC and Oculus. I do have a bit of information here. Based on the information you've provided here it sounds like SteamVR is crashing. If this is the case, you'd need to reach out to SteamVR support for trouble shooting.
