Quest touch pro trigger mistakenly touching detection

a324260327
Explorer

It detect to "touching" the trigger when my index finger just close to the trigger and not touch it.

When I push the trigger then leave, it don't leave immediately in unless I fully open my hand to keep my index finger really far away from trigger, it makes me hard to switch my gesture from fist/thumb to point/gun.

Is this caused by touch pro's index finger tracking? Can I turn this this feature off?I just want my trigger touch response works like quest2 controller works.

Thanks for replying! But I tried it and it seems like make no sense. I always kept it off and still meet this problem. And I tried turn hand tracking on then off but didn't notice any difference when I use touch pro controller between it turned on or off.

My headset is quest2 and system version is v53

↑ I made a video here to illustrate the problem I met. For my usage needs, I hope my avatar index finger keep away from the trigger when my real finger doesn't touch the trigger even if they are only 1mm apart, just like quest2 controller works.

Thanks for getting back to us, @a324260327. We would recommend trying to unpair and re-pair your controllers to see if that helps out, we'll list the steps for this below for your convenience. Let us know how it turns out. We'll be looking forward to hearing back from you!

Unpair a controller:

  • Open the Oculus app on the phone
  • Tap Menu in the lower right corner
  • Tap Devices
  • Tap the headset that is currently paired.
  • Tap Controller, then tap the desired controller to unpair.
  • Tap Unpair Controller.

Pair a controller:

  • Open the Oculus app
  • Tap Menu in the lower right corner
  • Tap Devices
  • If necessary, select the headset
  • Tap Controllers
  • Tap Left or Right to choose which hand you’d like to pair.

Tried it but nothing changed.

Hi there, @a324260327. Thanks for reaching back out and sending us that video of the controller. I have a couple troubleshooting options that might help if you would attempt to do the following:

  • Make sure the tracking cameras of the controllers are clean, please use the cleaning cloth provided with the Quest Pro, or a dry, non-abrasive microfiber cloth.

  1. While in VR, hold the controllers at eye level, pointing in front, so that the cameras on the controller can see the surroundings.
    • Move the controller around slowly for the controllers to start tracking.
  2. Try pressing and holding the Oculus button for 5 to 10 seconds. If the controllers re-center, then at least the controller's Bluetooth is connected. This means it’s likely the controller is not tracking.
    1. Try rebooting the controller by holding down the Oculus/Menu button until you see the lights change.
      • This usually takes about 12 seconds. You should feel the "powering down" haptics, followed by the "powering up" haptics before releasing the button.
    2. If it is still not working, restart the HMD via long-pressing the power button until the Power Menu comes up. Use the Gaze Cursor to select Reboot.

If your issue persists, please let us know. We are looking forward to your reply.
