Quest won't connect to PC

So I've been trying to install custom song to Beat Saber on my Quest but it seem there is something terribly wrong. When I connect Quest to my PC with USB adapter as my PC doesn't have USB-C, the PC won't even load it or give me notification that it is connected, it just recharges and nothing happens and of course I have the developer mode on.

Ok Guys i found a fix. For me i had to do a Factory Reset on my Quest. I waited like an hour and now it works again!

I get this feeling thousands are switching there devices to developer and it's freaking Oculus out lol from an updating point of view!  That fact I can't connect it with a wire is mad right now.

Hi, I don't know if this forum is still active but my quest appears in my list of devices (in 'devices and printers') but it only will appear in 'files' as E: drive and when clicked on it says something like 'insert disc in drive'

I also cannot connect to PC
  • dev mode is off
  • connecting cable USB-C (Oculus) to USB-A (PC)
  • no prompt message inside oculus VR to transfer files

Yeah I've got the same issue too.
I only connect it to my PC to transfer video files across, and I used to be able to do it but suddenly I can't. The sound comes up to signify its connected, and its in the list of devices, but it doesn't come up in file explorer anymore and there's no prompt in the headset. I'm connected to the PC by a USB A to USB C cable and its USB 2.0 not 3.0, but still I kind of feel like this might be the result of an update to the Quest's software.

hi everyone,
I Googled it and found a couple of tips on GitHub (can't post links here, sorry).
On my PC the first option worked out: turn off and then on again the "developer mode" via smart-phone Oculus app. I also checked the driver status in the "device manager" and they were already fine.

Idk if this helps anyone... but my solution was much simpler than this. I went into the Quest 2 settings, Developer tab, and turned on USB Connection Dialog! Once I plugged my headset back into my PC with a 2.0 Cable, the computer finally recognized it as a drive.
