Quest won't connect to PC

So I've been trying to install custom song to Beat Saber on my Quest but it seem there is something terribly wrong. When I connect Quest to my PC with USB adapter as my PC doesn't have USB-C, the PC won't even load it or give me notification that it is connected, it just recharges and nothing happens and of course I have the developer mode on.

i dont know if this is still active... none of these have worked for me! when i plug my quest 2 in, it is charging. but no sound or anything! i am using fasgear cable too. it appears in the control panel as quest 2 unknown device but when i try to connect it, it says to make sure my quest 2 is still on!

The original problem I had was resolved with the official link cable. But what you have is the same problem I had a few weeks ago. At first I tried to completely reinstall the oculus app on PC but that didn't work. What worked however was cleaning the registry, I used CCleaner, after that, all works just fine.

I have this happen to me from time to time since I started using my Oculus 2 headset in November 2020. I used to try all the advice given on these forums and have recently accidently discovered why I suffer this problem. If you allow the headsets charge to drop too low (I do not know what the critical level is) the Oculus link connection simply will not connect your Quest 2 headset to the PC/Laptop.

The simple sign that you are suffering a low charge level this is to do a normal shutdown or reset of your headset and if on reset or restart the Quest 2 headset fails to display the percentage charge level for example 100% before the oculus logo appears on your headset screen you will have to recharge your headset to get normal functionality back.

Once you have fully recharged your headset  start up your headset check that the headset displays the 100% charge level mentioned earlier. Then perform a shutdown or restart of your PC/Laptop and connect your Quest headset to your PC/Laptop as normal.

Works for me. I hope it helps some of you.
