Quest3: The image slightly jumps up and down when I move with the headset

This is already my 2nd Quest 3. The first one had ghosting artifacts and significant tracking issues after 15–20 minutes of gameplay. Therefore, I returned it and ordered a new one.

I didn't notice the problems from the first one anymore, but now the image jumps slightly up and down when I move around with the headset, and it's generally unstable. This occurs both in games but also in the menus. I've already tried a factory reset, but it didn't help. I'm on software version V60 since today starting with V59 and both shows the same behavior.

It seems like to be a tracking issue? I'm not familiar with this from the first model, and it's quite bothersome, causing mild motion sickness. Has anyone experienced this issue and can provide assistance?

Thank you!

Hey there, @roland171281, and thank you for reaching out to the community with your issue! Tracking hiccups are not good fun for anyone, so please be assured we'll work with you to get to a resolution! While you may have already looked into these possible causes, we want to make certain you eliminate any environmental issues that could be affecting tracking especially since it seems the issue is surviving a reset:

  • Ensure your area is well lit, with enough light to clearly see, but not direct sunlight
  • Ensure your area is free of small lights such as Christmas lights, or LED strips
  • Ensure your area is free of any reflective surfaces such as mirrors, glass or polished marble
  • Ensure the tracking cameras are clean by following the cleaning and maintenance guide found here:
  • Ensure your environment is free of any obstructions between the tracking cameras and the controllers

Once we've eliminated any environmental factors, if the issue still persists, we'd like you to send us a private message by selecting our name to get to our profile page, or click HERE. Next, click "Send a Message" to privately message us! Please remember, you must be signed into the community first to send us a private message. Looking forward to hearing back from you!
