I have this laptop - Dell - G15 15.6" Gaming Laptop - AMD Ryzen 7 7840HS - NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4060 - 16GB Memory - 512GB SSD. It says it doesn't meet the requirements.... I know for a fact it's powerful enough. Can someone help me?

@MallowTheProtoWolf  Ya, laptops can be a bit hit and miss but you should be able to get fairly good results with Link.  What Link cable?  Go though the Link setup, including doing a usb speed test.  You should see usb3 and around 2.0-2.5Gbps speed test results (you may need to run this 2-3 times in order for it to work).

If you manage to connect ok but still get this message, just ignore it and carry on.  If you cannot connect, you may want to try using Virtual Desktop (~$20 on Quest store).  If it doesn't work better you can get a refund.

Thanks, @TomCgcmfc, for providing that feedback to a fellow user, and @MallowTheProtoWolf, we don't want any issues getting in the way of you enjoying PCVR, and we're glad to help you out!

Let's have you check to ensure your Meta Quest 3 is connected to the correct GPU in your laptop. Laptops have separate GPU's  and sometimes they connect to the wrong one.

Please try the following steps:

Manually assign the GPU

You can use Windows to manually assign which GPU is used by a specific process. This should have little to no side effects. To do so:

  1. Close the Oculus Desktop software
  2. Open Windows Settings > System > Display > Graphics Settings
  3. Select Classic App from the drop down and click Browse
  4. Select the OculusClient.exe
(By default, this will be installed C:\Program Files\Oculus\Support\oculus-client\OculusClient.exe)
  5. Click Options > High Performance > Save
Ensure the "High Performance" option has your dedicated graphics at the top of this menu.

Please let us know if the above steps help out or if more assistance is needed. We look forward to hearing back from you!

Sadly it still isn't working and I did the first set of instructions. It still says it doesn't meet the updated minimum requirement, when I know It should work... It has usb 3.2 gen 1's and a usb c port. I have no idea what to do...

Sadly I don't have $20 to shell out, this laptop is with a payment plan. I can barely afford it. Hopefully something will give and It will work 😕

We completely understand @MallowTheProtoWolf and are happy to continue to work with you on this!

Please try the following steps to Manually uninstall and reinstall the Desktop App:

    • C:\Users\YourUserProfile\AppData\LocalLow
    • C:\Users\YourUserProfile\AppData\Roaming
    • C:\OculusSetup-DownloadCache

I have done this now two times just to make sure. It didn't work.

Are you able to install the meta link pc software?  You might be able to ignore the error message and carry on trying to setup your link cable.  What link cable are you using?  Any decent usb3 cable should work.  Just try to avoid using any usb connector adapters.
