Question about Two Quest 3 Headsets

Redshift
Explorer

I am a fairly new VR user and purchased a Quest 3 about a year ago.  We decided to buy a second Quest 3 headset so my wife and I could play games together.  I have a profile on the original headset but my wife doesn’t.  She is going to set up one but I wanted to know if she should set it up through the new headset with a new account or should she set up her profile on my account?  I want all of our apps and games to be accessible by both of us on both headsets.  Is this possible and, if so, how should I go about it?  Thanks!

OK. So what you need to do.

If you don't want to pay for the game for each user, you need to have your account as the primary on both Quests.

Then you add her as a 2nd user on one of them. Turn on app sharing on that Quest and she can then play the same games at the same time or with you.. HOWEVER!!!!

There are some games that will not allow that. It depends on the developer. Some developers will require each user to own their own copy of the game to be able to play it at the same time or with each other.

Also, if you have DLC or add-ons usually they will not be available to the 2nd user only the main user.

This was a summarized explanation I found on google:In summary, you can often play the same game simultaneously by leveraging App Sharing, but be aware of the limitations. If you want to play multiplayer games reliably with two separate players on two separate Quest devices, it's often necessary to purchase a copy of the game for each account.

Quest 3-[512GB] - v.74 (non-PTC)
{PCVR} Predator Orion 5k (i7-14700F - Noctua NH-U12A Cooled)-64GB Crucial Pro 5600 (16GBx4)
8TB SSD (2x1TB Predator Helios PH18 SSD - 2TB WD Black SN770 SSD - 2x2TB Samsung 870 EVO SSD)
Predator Nvidia RTX 4070 Ti Super - Win 11 Pro

no problem. Glad I could help.

one other thing, I also wanted to share. my wife and I also each have a quest 3.

we at first tried doing the shared game thing. We ended up finding out. It was a huge pain in the ass and ended up deciding to set up as two separate owners having their own quest 3.

then when we got the games that we wanted to play you send a recommendation to your wife, which means she will get a discount on the game and you will get a kickback for her buying it. the kickback is usually two or three dollars in meta cash.

when you actually look at it, It really isn’t that much money because you’re only gonna be buying a game here and there as you go along finding new games to play.

Thanks again!  Great information to help us decide how to set everything up.
