RTX 4070. Your system's graphics card is incompatible with the Rift system software...

Hello,

I've got a new XPS laptop (2023) with an RTX 4070, i9 CPU, 64GB ram, win 11 and have been chatting with support and still get this message when I open the PC oculus app. Already went through the standard support channel and submitted logs and manually assigned the high-end card to this app and the issue still persists. Has anyone been able to resolve this? Thanks for reading and your consideration.

I got an Alienware m16, NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4070 Laptop GPU (Ryzen 9 7845HX CPU), same issue, tried all the driver versions listed here, tried the latest one (558.85 released 2 days ago), tried studio and game ready versions. The Oculus app once suggested v471.41, but that version isn't even compatible with this card. Now it just says update to v.

Tried clean install of the Link app as described here deleting all the folders, no luck.
Tried to turn on public test channel, didn't help.
I have all oculus realated exes set up to high performance mode as the original poster did.

I am blocked in Unity VR development for oculus, please help me to resolve this asap.

Experiencing the same problem with a business workstation HP ZBook Power G10 (i7 13th gen, 32GB RAM, RTX A500): "Your system graphics card is incompatible with the Rift system software".
Tried all the suggestion mentioned in this thread (high performance, driver update ecc...). I am able to launch Oculus Link on my headset, but when I try to stream the desktop I see only a black screen and the headset become super laggy.
How can we proceed our work on development if we can't be sure what machines are reliable?

Hello @Mattia.Orbyta! Being able to use PCVR is a great way to experience VR. We want to ensure that you are able to use your headset however you choose to. With that being said, we did want to let you know that RTX A500 for your laptop is not supported. You can find a complete list of the specs that are supported here. We have a short list of steps you can try and see if they resolve the issue, but due to the GPU not being supported, our troubleshooting is limited. Those steps are as follows:

Manually assign the GPU

You can use Windows to manually assign which GPU is used by a specific process. This should have little to no side effects. To do so:

  • Close the Oculus Desktop software
  • Open Windows Settings > System > Display > Graphics Settings
  • Select Classic App from the drop down and click Browse
  • Select the OculusClient.exe
(By default, this will be installed C:\Program Files\Oculus\Support\oculus-client\OculusClient.exe)
  • Click Options > High Performance > Save
Ensure the "High Performance" option has your dedicated graphics at the top of this menu.

We hope that these steps are helpful for you. If you have any further questions, please do not hesitate to reach out to us.

As a few of us have already mentioned a few times, these steps do not solve anything, even for us with a RTX4070 which should be supported.

Hello @virtualHCG! We would love to provide you with some information regarding compatibility. You can find that information here. If you still need additional assistance, you can always send us a PM, so we can take a closer look into your issue. Please select our name to get to our profile page, or click here. Next, click "Send a Message" to privately message us! Please remember, you must be signed in to the community first to send us a private message.

We hope this helps!

Hey everyone! Just jumping in here to state that I'll be locking this thread. The reason being that this is a bit of an older thread. We do have a more recent thread right here that I'd definitely suggest reaching out on if you're continuing to experience some issues.

As for the error message, our Link requirements do state the 40 series as supported so the error may state it's incompatible while still working properly.
