From inside the Meta Quest Pro I can record a video, following these steps.
But the game audio is not being recorded. Why not? What to do?
I found a similar thread here, but I guess the issue still hasn't been salved.

PLEASE META, help us out! And please don't ask the same regular questions again as in that thread! We need a fix.

PS: What I have figured it out is that if the sound output in windows settings is set to Oculus headset, the sound is being recorded. But if I set the output to something else (I use my own earphone headset), there is no recorded sound anymore.
That much I can help you guys out. Its up to you to try to fix, how the Quest Pro will record audio from other sources.

Hey!
You could possibly have your recording software set to output through your headphones and monitor through that.
As we do not believe there would be any other way to do this as you would need the Oculus Virtual Audio Device set as the output for a recording software to pick up the audio from it.

Yes this would be correct.
There may be ways to do this. Such as routing audio through digital mixers for streaming etc.
But it would out of our scope of assistance unfortunately. It is definitely something that could be worth addressing however, if you would like you could submit this to our ideas forum, and perhaps if it gets some traction in the future there could be easier ways to record, with audio, using other sources.

Hey there,
Welcome to Meta Store Support. We are glad that you have contacted us. Before we continue, can you please describe what troubleshooting steps have your performed on your own already? Al though we appreciate the visual provided in your post we are unable to open the document.
It also worth noting, that to ensure a good quality recording both the headset and the receiving device need to be connected to the same local area network. This means they must both be connected through the same router.
Another possible explanation for this phenomenon could be that some developers have the option to disable certain features. Mea does not have a list of which apps do or do not allow recordings or casting.
Hope to hear back from you.

I removed that video, thats why its not accessible any longer. It's really not that important, it was just a video recoreded for a game with Quest Pro headset, but with no sound.
I don't know what else to do, there is nothing much I can. Seems that the only way to record the audio from a game, is to set the output as Oculus Virtual Audio device.
If I select any other device, the audio is not being recored. I really don't have any more clues what to do.

The point being, I would like to use my own headset (Hyper X Virtual Surround headset) while playing games and recording videos.

I see now what are you trying to say. So video is being recorded derectly on Oculus headset, so must be audio as well, right? Audio cannot be recorded from any other device which is not connected with Oculus headset. Thats seems logical. At least if I want to record directly from Oculus headset.
Ok, so we at least found the correct answer to my question, which is: if video is recorded on Oculus headset, audo must be from there as well (audio just can't be picked from for any other source which is connected to pc).
Am I right?

Thank you for your answer, I guess we are done here.
Btw, I don't have access to Ideas forum, but I remember I had in the past. Any ideas why?

Do you have a VPN enabled?
Perhaps you are trying to load it from an unsecure browser / link.
Ensure the date and time on your computer is correct as sometimes websites will not allow you to connect if this is wrong!
