Recording and Casting to MQDH 3.2.0 not working

Hello. My Quest 2, `Version: 47.0.0.282.341, Firmware Build ID: user-49068160412800150` is completely unable to cast or record through the Meta Quest Developer Hub. I've tried everything the popup asks (check accounts, reboot, update, check network, etc.) and I still can't get casting or recording through the Developer Hub to work.
When trying to cast, I get the following error message and an error within the headset itself.

Casting to my phone and to Google Chrome works, but not through MQDH.

 

I'm connecting it to my PC via the official Type C cable, and that's the method it's being connected to MQDH with.

@nexusxemy team have been impacted by this casting issue since ~3.2 as well. we're still able to record or capture screenshots through MQDH, but we've seen the same casting issue for several revisions now.

have you made any progress troubleshooting this issue outside of the non-response we've received from support here? i'm pretty certain we haven't made any networking/firewall changes that would impact this and it's some undocumented mystical incantation that will get the in-MQDH casting feature working again so we can avoid the browser.

Unfortunately not. The linked forums seem pretty useless. This problem still persists to this day, unfortunately.

Hey there, @nexusxe! We understand how inconvenient and concerning it can be when casting isn't working properly, we'd love to help! Here's some troubleshooting to go through, and if it doesn't help then we'd recommend reaching out to us through the Meta Store Support website where we have more tools and resources to help out. 

 

  • Cast with another phone
  • Cast from another app (Netflix, Spotify, YouTube)
  • Ensure all 3 devices are on the exact same network. (ex. If the router has a 5GHZ and 2GHZ channel, all the devices must be on the same channel)
     
  • Ensure you're logged in to the same account on both the headset and the browser
  • Wait 5 minutes for connection to be established
  • Power cycle the headset and establish casting immediately before launching any other apps

I'm having the same issue too and Meta Quest support is not helpful.
